Food porn for Beck in the MMP!

Food porn: dinner was Asian BBQ chicken, green tea rice and stir fried veghie wirh Shezchuan peppercornas with soy and rice vinegar.

Feel better **Spidey **!

Oh, dear, Spidey. Are you sure it’s not broken?

Beck’s food porn: dinner was a salad and rigatoni with chicken and marinara sauce. I sprinkled it with Romano cheese. I’m trying to decide if I want a cupcake.

I’m a little worried about my dog Mauser. I’m getting ready for work now and I put out h is food, Usually he gobbles it down at once, and now he hasn’t touched it. He’ not acting as if he’s in pain, but for him to not want to eat is strange.

Morning all! Beck, I can’t really help with the food porn, breakfast was overnight oats with mixed berries, lunch is tuna salad, and dinner tonight is…err…whatever I cook when I get home. Leek and bacon tartiflette may be on the cards tonight, if I remember to get spinach and stuff on the way home.

Today is a fun day at irk. I have a meeting about the ongoing industrial action that our academic staff are taking (they’re on strike all week), and another one to discuss plans for Covid19 impact. This might mean lots of people needing to work from home (pain in the backside, because we get remote access to our file servers but not to our major systems), plans to manage all the assessments that are due to come in over the next few weeks, and the impact it will have on exams and in particular our final year students.

And I’ve got a 7K word project to write for my management course, and a meeting this morning about process mapping for about 15 different things…is it time to go home yet?

**FCD **just left for Baltimore for a consult with the vascular surgeon on the team. His office is at (or adjacent) the hospital where the surgery will be done. He doesn’t need to be there for more than 3 hours, but since he’ll be caught in rush hour for both DC and Balto, he’s allowing a lot of time. With luck, he won’t have to return up there till Apr 28, except for when we go to my mom’s for Easter/babbies birthday.

I’m the Roxy wrangler today. Not sure what we’ll do - it’s somewhat weather dependent. I hope I can get her outside for a while. She can play and I can start raking. Good times!!

The keto bread I made yesterday is particularly unappetizing when it’s toasted. I don’t think I’ll make this recipe again. The search is on for a better option. But I do think I’ll make a lasagne dome for supper. It calls for dry red wine, and all I have is burgundy. I wonder how much it matters (ETA: hardly at all), since I usually put burgundy in my sketty sauce. I may have to run to the store.

Maybe I’ll have a full day after all.

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Toosday!

The temp is nice this morning, 55 degrees. However, it is pouring down rain.
I wonder who will show up at the park today.

According to my phone app, the rain should stop right around the time we need to go get groceries.
Then start up again.

Red, the red cabbage is for a different experiment. I don’t know all the details, but supposedly you can boil the cabbage, then use strips of it to test various liquids to see if they are acid or base.
We’ll see.

So today we’ll be picking up groceries. My son has a mess of proofreading for me to do. I was trying to do it last night for him, but irk was busy YAY!, and Niece2 was texting me because my mother is driving her crazy. I told her she just needs to move out. I also told her my mother is never happy, whatever you do you should have done the opposite, there is no pleasing her, so don’t even try. My niece should remember this… I told y’all about the time my niece cleaned the kitchen. She did a fantastic job, the walls, the floors, the light fixtures, cleaned the cabinets inside and out, organized everything… the kitchen was sparkling.
My mother came home, saw the kitchen, asked who cleaned it, and then she walked around inspecting it, looking for something, anything, to bitch about. Then she came to the window, and yes my niece had cleaned the window, and the frame, and the sill, but outside, in the backyard were … leaves. My mother got that look on her face and said … cleaning the kitchen was nice but didn’t she see all those leaves out there? If she really wanted to do something nice for me she should have raked the leaves.
Then she wonders why nobody will do anything for her.
Because no matter what you do, it is never done right, it is never good enough, she could have done it better, why are you so lazy, couldn’t you see that something else should have been done… doesn’t matter, she will find something to bitch about, and you learn real quick to leave something for her to bitch about, because if she can’t find anything to bitch about, there will be hell to pay later. Nothing pisses her off more than not being able to find something to be pissed about.
I told my niece, it’s a lot easier to like my mother when you only have to take her in small doses. From a distance it’s easier to feel sorry for her, because you know something isn’t right and she can’t help it.
At her age, she is not going to change, so just accept it and move on.
I have to say though, the only person she doesn’t pull that shit on is my son.

My niece will probably show her the text messages and then she’ll be mad at me.

Happy writing BooFae

Hope Mauser is okay Cupcakes

I had breakfast before the park, a Kirkland chocolate brownie protein bar, made with real chocolate, no artificial flavors, 4g carbs, 21g protein, 15g fiber, 7g fat.
Yummy.

I believe that is Anthony and Cleopatra, FairyChat.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN OK, have been up, had some caffeine, and got purtied up cause the bug man is due here shortly. So on the second round of caffeinatin’. 'Tis 59 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 71 and cloudy for the day. Today laundry shall get accomplished. Sup shall be unstuffded cabbage. I may or may not make corn bread.

Last night’s Vestry meetin’ was sooooooooooo loooooooooooooong! Two and a half hours that I firmly believe could have been done in an hour and a half. Some serious diarrhea of the mouth from a few folks last night.

Spidey hope you’re better today.

Beck glad you made it to the rehab place and that you can access teh intartoobz!

OK, I suppose I should get busy. Bug man will be here in a few minutes. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

They weren’t part of the same challenge, you hockey puck! :stuck_out_tongue:

Did I just channel Don Rickles??

In a stroke of genius, I filled Roxy’s sand table with white rice. She can play in the house and it’ll be easy to clean up. Go me!

Morning all. Just about rid of the cold, hit it with a triple header this morning (DayQuil, Dristan, and Bayer aspirin). Taking the lawn mower over to the place I use to get it tuned up/sharpened for the mowing season. Rain seems to have passed through the area, we’ll see if it dries out enough for soccer to be practiced today.

swampy, there’s always someone(s) like that in every meeting ever since civilization invented the committee meeting.

Cupcakes, hope Mauser gets his appetite back.

Sari, Must be a universal trait–my mom could be the same way.

Boofae, remember, ‘living in interesting times’ is considered a curse…

Spidey, hope the foot feels better today; if not, you probably should get it looked at.

FCM, if I haven’t said it before, good on ya for stretching your mind some by taking those classes. I really should, but I can be real lazy at times (like 90% of it).

OK, need to make myself somewhat presentable and get the lawn mower loaded in the car. All y’all take care.

Noooooo It’s Antony and Cleopatra.

Home from the park, only one other dog there, Lily. Lily, for whatever reason, really loves Ripple. She gets grumpy with all the other dogs, but never him.
She and Echo got into it the other day, fighting over a stick.

The rain stopped, but it is wet and icky out there.

I woke up at 4 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep. I see a nap after grocery pickup.

We just got a little rain but according to the weather radar, that’ll be it. I’m hoping the sun comes out so I can take Roxy out after nap.

That’s why I got up, to turn the tube off (& eat something). Of all] the reality shows out there, that has to be the dumbest one that I’ve ever seen; though admittedly I’ve never seen most of them, even once. You take one guy & a couple dozen hot girls, out on amazing activities - helicopter to the rim of a volcano where there’s a chef-prepared meal. Whittle it down to two or three, then all of a sudden he proposes to one of them, despite them all living in different parts of the country & never do anything resembling what a ‘normal’ life would be like.

I was dating someone, very intelligent & accomplished - she had a framed letter on her wall, from then-President Obama, congratulating her on winning a prestigious, named national award that you all would know the name of (Think Noble Prize, though that’s international, not national). She & her partner (they were in the process of writing a book at the time) would always take a break from their writing/editing to watch the show. I was over her house & watched the first episode of one season, which was my introduction to that show. There are about three dozen women to meet the guy in a cocktail party-like setting. He met & spoke to each one for about five minutes. They then interviewed one of the castoffs. She was crying; tears streaming down her face, “We were soulmates; I can’t believe he didn’t pick me.” Ummm, he met you for < five mins & decided you weren’t good enough to make his top 25; clearly, you were not soulmates. That was my first & last time watching that show.

Still tender but the swelling is down, though it wasn’t that much to begin with. I looked at it - just keeping off it (for now), keeping it up, & gonna wrap it w/ an ACE bandage. Save myself some $ for the same advice I’d get from a doc-in-a-box.

What’s wet & sticky?

a dog-slobbered or rained-on stick. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good morning, folks. Another Tuesday. Oh, joy.

FCM, no matter how you do it, the keto bread is far, FAR from real bread. Try not putting so many egg yolks in it, though. They REALLY make it taste eggy. Just sub with whites, or, use the little cartons of egg whites, instead.

I hope everyone is having a good day. I’ve been busy with the usual hovelwork. Vacuuming is on the agenda. Again. I’m always vacuuming. I don’t even put the vacuum away, anymore. No need. With two Husky-mix mutts, that shed so much, it’s unreal, and the old Peagle guy, that sheds like there’s no tomorrow, I MUST keep the vacuum at the ready.
After that, the laundry needs to go into the dryer, and another small-ish load started.

I’d like to get some reading done, but, I can’t do that, until I get the hovelwork all done. I know how I am. I won’t be able to relax enough to enjoy it, if I know that there’s hovelwork to do. It’s a curse. Bahwahahaha!

The sun wa out for a while, now that we have to go get groceries it’s getting cloudy.

I have been KonMariing again, I started on sentimental even though I never did misc. Once I started with the photos, I just kept going.
Actually, I’m not too worried about missing the misc catagory as I am usually pretty good at getting rid of that stuff anyway.
I don’t know what to do with a bunch of the stuff. My mother’s first deceased bf collected stamps and coins, I have some of each. No desire to keep them, so I guess I should find a place to sell them. My mother had asked his family several times to come and get them, and when they didn’t she gave some of it to me. Or maybe she gave all of it to me, I don’t know, all I know is that I don’t want it.

Of course it rained while my son was carrying in the groceries.

Lunch was potato wedges from the deli, mine with sour cream.
I always cheat on grocery day.

I’m ready for a nap but I think my son wants to start his food experiments.
He needs me to take pictures as proof that he did it.

Well that was special–as I was sitting here, I noticed a familiar feeling. Things were, for wont of a better term, fuzzy. Checked blood sugar, it was in my normal range. Still fuzzy. Strapped on the BP cuff, and came up with 89/42. THAT sounded General Quarters, and I added some fluid, and the pressure is above 90 now, so things are getting more in focus. Another thing to talk to the quacks about. Rah.

And of course the feline overlord took this time to take a monster dump that is prohibited by the Geneva conventions. Three rooms away from the catbox and I need a spacesuit.

My son got an email that classes are being switched over to online after spring break next week. The email didn’t say if it affected his campus so he will find out tomorrow.

Making mayonnaise by hand is a pita, we had to add an extra egg yolk, my fault I think for adding the oil to fast.
Also used my immersion blender because both of us were tired of whisking.
He still wants to do the cabbage experiment tonight. I didn’t get a nap in today, I am tired and grumpy.

Thank you all for thinking of Mauser. When I finally got home today he was fine. That’s such a relief. He’d gotten into the trash yesterday afternoon so maybe something went through him and upset his system… I’d hate to lose him.

Can I ask for prayers and good wishes? I have had a callback from a place I applied to work, at the local university. It would be full time, and M-F. I submitted the online profile they asked for, and also gave a call to the director who called to let me know he’d recieved my letter of interest. It was too late today to hear back, buy maybe when I come home tomorrow I’ll have another call or an email response. I really want to get out of my current job, it’s fairly toxic since the new company took over.

Sahirrnee, I hope your son and everyone else stays healthy.
**
The Vorlon**, does your overlord do that often?:stuck_out_tongue:

Baker, you are on my prayer list.
