OK, I'll Start The MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 62 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 89 and N.O.S. for the day. We shall spiff da cave today and have leftovers for sup. I suppose we could squeeze in some quality cee-mint pond time and/or a nappage. We may need to be careful with that as one does not want too much on one’s agenda, right?

So, no great worthwhile topic to ponder. Headin’ into, what, six weeks of quarantine, makes it to the point where ponderin’ great thoughts just ain’t happenin’, at least for me. Thus we shall be general and willy-nilly this week. Just like we always are! :stuck_out_tongue:

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

First! Got a load of sheets in the washer, cause if I didn’t do it as soon as I was up, I wouldn’t have done it at all. Nothing big planned for the day, which is again supposed to get near 80F.

Haven’t had a great thought in a while myself, swampy; some mildly interesting ones, but nothing great.

All y’all take care.

Afternoon, mumpers! My boss and my colleague are both on leave today so I am in charge! So far I’ve been asked to do something that I don’t have the right info for, so I can’t. That’s a promising start. The other thing we had to do has been done, so I am hoping for a quiet afternoon so I can spend it working on my project. I am taking the next two days as my official guided learning days as we were supposed to have three of them (time out of work to allow us to gather data and write up stuff) but I hadn’t been able to use any of them due to other things going on at irk. However, project has to be finished by next week so I told the boss I am taking two days this week to work on it. Boofae has spoken!

I am not having any great thoughts either, the biggest thought of the day is what to make for dinner tonight. I am torn between honey chilli chicken, or creamy garlic chicken, both of which will be served with rice and veggies. Oh well, I have another five hours to think about it before I have to actually start any cooking! Brekkie was bran flakes and raspberries, lunch will be chicken salad. At some point today there will be a bit of exercise, probably after I finish irk. That is pretty much the sum total of my day.

Onwards, and upwards!

I was awakened around midnight, wondering why **FCD **was taking a shower. Then I realized he was sleeping soundly beside me, but the sky had opened outside! Luckily, it didn’t keep me up for long, and I slept till after 6.

We’re promised a loverly spring day with temps near 70°, but the rest of the week will be lots cooler. Dammit. Not quite warm enough to leave the house open, especially with nights dropping into the 40s. I expect we’ll go from this to SUMMER!!!

Assuming they don’t reschedule him again, **FCD **will be going to Baltimore one day this week to have blood drawn at the hospital and to get a chest x-ray. As nervous as I am about the plague, I want him to get this surgery over and done with. He’s more worried about the plague than the surgery itself, even tho they’ll be playing with his spine. I just want it all done.

The only positive is that I’ll be staying at my mom’s and she can give me a haircut.

**nellie **- you asked about black-eyed susans, and it’s funny because **FCD **and I were having the same black/brown conversation. So I looked it up - it’s actually another variety of Rudbeckia, just like the black-eyed susan, and they’re both coneflowers. Which explains why the leaves of my susies and my coneflowers look so similar! Gee, I learnt something!!

No big plans for today, but since it’s nice, I may go outside and futz a bit. Maybe transplant some coneflowers?

Happy Moanday!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Both Gordie and the coffee maker hornked this morning, in keeping with it being a Moanday in 2020. I expect the murder hornets will show up around 11ish.

Gotta drag myself to irk today, looking forward to that even less than normal. Sleeping for more than an hour or so between checking the clock would be nice. Mid-80s projected today, mid-90s by Friday. Ugh.

Well, I went to the 8:00AM meeting today, at the main building for my employer… I was four minutes early, but the meeting had already started. It was held outside, as the building was going to be opened shortly. A storm was approaching, it was windy and I could hardly hear anything. I did find out the librarly will not be opening until June, but I’ll get hours at this facility. OK, so I asked our cafe manager(not the one in charge) when we would start and she said “Now” Huh? I’d had no notice and had plans today, at different times. So I said so. She seemed a bit taken aback, but I will be at work tomorrow. I hate this company, and hope I can get another job, but for now need the money. The company says they are planning changes to their recipes, will be going to all scratch baking and so on, and I’m supposed to work with another employee I don’t know yet, showing them some of our recipes. I straight up told the cafe manager “So, I’m training the person who’s going to take my job?” She assured me that isn’t so, but I don’t believe her, after some other stunts they have pulled. I’ll do my work as best I can, follow rules, show up on time, but I’ll drop them with no notice if I find another job, just like they fired our previous manager and before that screwed her hours over.

Roxy and I have just come in - it’s been a busy morning of swings, bubbles, sand box, taking a walk, and generally running around like a 2-y/o. She’s having lunch, and I hope she’ll go down for a nap right after. I need a rest! Kid wears me out!!

**FCD **heard from the dr office - it’s all go for next Tuesday, assuming **FCD **doesn’t catch the plague before then. He’s got to get a blood draw and a covid test in Baltimore this week, plus a chest x-ray. All I’ll be able to do next week is drop him off in the hospital, then wait for the Dr to call me. I hate that, but such is life these days.

I worry about his phone - will it be secure with his personal effects? I may call the hospital myself.

Lunch time!

I’m on my third cuppa joe, been irking, and just got some Beecher’s sharp cheddar cheese and a Landjäger out of the fridge.

Turns out the phone won’t be an issue - they’re not permitted. Not sure what the rules are in rehab - guess we’ll find out when the time comes.

Meanwhile, Roxy is sleeping. That is all.

Got the gas tank filled (prices have risen some) and more picture frames at Wal-Mark (hopefully this will be the last few I need. I have discovered that washing a king-sized mattress pad is something that should be done by itself rather than with other items…tends to swallow everything else.

Noticed that more people are out and fewer seem to be wearing masks…like the troubles are over. More fools they.

So just sitting back and working on the sub sammich for lunch, it’s 78F and about a 50-50 chance of rain this afternoon, so inside I will remain.

cupcakes, hope something else comes along, that management team sounds like the definition of ‘toxic’. Good luck tomorrow.

boofae, good luck with the project.

doggio, I think the murder hornets are still out on the west coast, so you have a little time to get ready. Think more about nut and what might happen if they got loose in Britain among her hives…

------may the fourth be with you-----

And also with you.

I ran to McKay’s - I wanted to get more of the strawberries they have on sale - they’re better than the ones Food Lion has. I also scored some shrimps on sale, and I got a pack of little steaks that are now marinating for supper. Sides will be onions-n-mushrooms, some kind of N.O.T.s, and broccoli.

Dishwasher is washing at the moment and ice maker is making ice. I’m gonna do a puzzle.

I planted strawberries three weeks ago, and they still aren’t producing!

Saturday I planted wildflower seeds in a couple of pots, and they aren’t growing!

What am I doing wrong?

Happy Moonday!

It’s a sunshiney 66 degrees outside.
It’s a bit chilly out there because of the breeze.

My son is having a rough day. He has a HUGE 15-20 page report (not including the heading and ending pages) with a power point presentation due today. He was all ready to turn it in yesterday and he thought he’d go back to check the assignment instructions. Slacker team member didn’t meet all the rules so he needs to rewrite a bit of the report as well as rewrite the concluding paragraph to include the new information. He probably won’t have time to get the other team mates’ approval before he submits it.

Doing some laundry today. I tried to order groceries over the weekend, but almost everything I was ordering can’t be ordered online, so we’ll be making a trip to the store tomorrow. I had forgotten that next weekend is Mother’s Day, so I ordered something for her today but it won’t get there in time.

Life is still full of minor annoyances.
They are slowly getting resolved.

Ummmm, not enough plant food?

The berries I bought are from NC, tho I noticed one of the Amish farms is advertising local berries now.

Soil too cold? Wildflowers can take 4-6 weeks to germinate. Speaking of which, our tomato starters are looking very muscular. We’ve been hardening them during the day out on the deck and bringing them in at night, but I think they may be ready for planting, what with 80 degree weather coming this weekend. Same for the basil.

Monday is cleaning day (groan), so that needs to be started. A necessary evil, especially in allergy season. Took the cat out for her constitutional. She got roundly scolded by an irate mama bird.

I’ve gotten lazy with my photography, defaulting to my Canon S95 or the cell phone, while my lovely D7200 sits in its case, whimpering. So this morning I pulled it out, stuck on the macro lens, and shot some pics of the blooming irises, using aperture priority. Picture quality is so much better than the P&S and of course there’s no comparison with the phone photos, since I don’t have a top-end cell.

I have a huge collection of 35mm cameras. I’ve been itching to get one out. I know the Olympus OM4 is loaded with B&W, which I intended to shoot last year. After seeing the Leica M3 in Tales From The Loop, I’d like to get out the Olympus or Canon rangefinder camera.

Howdy Y’all! We sanitized the place and then had yestiddy’s leftovers for N.O.L. followed by nappage. A productive day! Well, for us. Oh and a little while ago I went to the Pubic Sto’ and got some shrimpies cause they are on sale. Nice medium sized shrimpies. Tomorrow we shall feast upon shrimpies and sallit. YUM!

BooFae good luck with your project.

CupCakes hope you find a new gig soonest so you can go all Johnny Paycheck on their butts.

Sari we missed you last week! Hope everything goes OK with Sah-Son’s skool stuff.

doggio I say we collaborate and come up with a film script, Murder Hornets vs. Killer Bees. I smell and Oscar!
