Food porn for Beck in the MMP!

And we’re back. Very few kids at W-G this morning, and the leader wrapped it up early. Then Roxy and I ran to Food Lion for a few groceries, and came home to lunch. Her papa is about to put her down for a nap. I’ll tidy the kitchen and figure out what to do for supper. **FCD **said he just wants a salad, which is easy.

I need to practice signing numbers before class tonight. I’ve got 1-10 down, but going on to 30 still gives me grief. And **FCD **just called - he’s had all his pre-surgical imaging done so he’s on his way home. Rah!

Why are hospital beds like a slab of marble? I like a firm mattress, but this bed is ridiculous.
Breakfast was some kind of scrambled up hashbrowns. I suppose it was a western hashbrown, onion, peppers and cheese. It was good.
Had therapy and a snack.

Y’all have a good hump day!

Moooooom, you can make macaroons from almond flour. Or really moist pound cake.

Howdy Y’all! We procured provisions and I made a bunch of chikin sallit, some of which was et for N.O.L. In a little while we shall make many chikin sallit sammiches for tonight. OYKW said sump’n about cuttin’ the crust off the bread. I told him this is soup 'n sammich not high tea.

Trail races frequently pour flour arrows on the ground so you know which way to go. Wind/rain/critters take care of the removal so there’s nothing to go back & cleanup after the race.

You could become a race director & put on a race. I bet it would be well attended given how many others are being cxl’d. Of course, if yours gets too big then the gubmint may want you to cxl yours as well. :smack:

Mebbe do something in the backyard for the Roxstar???

Well, the good thoughts about a new job, from fellow Dopers, may be working. I have an interview Friday morning for the university baking job… It’s been so long since I applied for a job, over nineteen years, that I find a lot has changed. First contact seems to be almost always online, for one thing.

Mauser is his old perky, chowhound self, I’m also glad for the vibes there.

**Spidey **- my sister will take it all. She’s a keto fan.

Just found out the college is going all on-line starting Moanday. Not sure how that will affect my ASL class - you kinda need interaction if you’re going to learn properly. The DVD is pretty good, but it has its limits. So we’ll see what Thor says tonight.

Dammit.

Good thoughts, Cupcakes!!! I still think you should take some samples with you!

When I get home, I’ll try to set up my Echo Dot. Or maybe I’ll do it tomorrow. Whatevah!

I think that a better thing than samples would be being able to show how I can work from memory. I daresay that if the cafe was destroyed I could replace at least 75% of the recipes I use working from memory. That’s what being in one place for so long can do for you. Give me a calculator and I have no trouble changing amounts of ingredients, or from metric to American, or back.

All I need to do is work two more years, then I can get Social Security benefits and still work as needed.

But samples would be fun.

Home from school and picking up the brats.
School will be online until April 6, maybe longer.
It’ll be nice not having to drive him there.

He has an interview on Firday, not for a job, but a class assignment to interview an entrepreneur. The father of one of the women on his team owns a bar/restaurant. She set up the interview, make it easy for everybody.

I saw the white tailed cat out back tonight, first time in months I have seen her.
I put some food out for her.

I didn’t get much of anything done today. I was digging around in the clost and found … more papers, and some kids’ books. I think I may send them down to my mother’s for the boys. Part of me says to send them there, I think the boys would enjoy them, part of me says there is already too much stuff in her house and it wouldn’t be nice to send more.

Good luck Cupcakes

{{{nettie and hubs}}}

Good news about your hubby butters. And as for the little hellion (your words, not mine :stuck_out_tongue: ), skritches. I think he and Nelson would have a lot of fun together should they ever meet.

Happy Wiggle Giggle Day!

Irked, came home and met with the new apartment manager to put in a couple of work orders. When I got home, two packages were on my doorstep. Da Jungle had delivered them to the wrong address two days ago, took the pic, and boogied. I clicked on the button to report the issue and they credited my account (it was less than $20) and told me that if they turned up, keep them. So, my pen needles for the next few months and a rubber stamp are gratis. Oh, well, I’ll spend it there at some point again. :stuck_out_tongue:

The light in the dining room is flickering. I am playing the appropriate music. And having a martini after fighting ignorance all day.

Feel better Becks!

: crosses appropriate and inappropriate appendages for Cupcake :

Crispy beef stir fry

Coarsely chop onion, bell pepper, and celery (The Holy Trinity! ) in some sesame oil. Add some garlic. Add salt, coarse black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add bottled stir-fry sauce. Slice beef into bite-size pieces. Season corn starch with salt and pepper mixed in. Fry it in hot oil until crispy. Serve with some rice.

I’ve never made crispy beef before, but I like the stuff they have at the Chinese restaurant. Mrs. L.A. says mine’s better. (I would have preferred kung pao chilis, but the pepper flakes were good.)

I’d give you a good reference; or course, I’d need some samples to know that your work is good to give said good reference. I’ll PM you my address to overnight said samples.

Mebbe it’s possessed!
I knew a good priest, who, perfect for you was also a brewmaster in the Great White North, too but you’re screwed, you Hoser! :frowning:
I met a female named Lena tonight; she was a real bitch, literally; she wouldn’t kiss me. I mean I gave her skritches & put my hand in front of her face, which she sniffed but no kisses.

You are Merciless in your taunting, sir!:stuck_out_tongue:

The answer on the ASL class is, um, wait and see. So we shall see. I’ll see what I can teach myself from the video.

Stoopit virus.

Does it make your head spin (all the way) around?

Do I spin you round?

Howdy Y’all! Home from Lenten doin’s over to the church house. Actually been home for over an hour, but just now checkin’ in. I’m a slacker, what can I say! We had a fairly good crowd and a good soup ‘n sammich meal. The Lenten program, A Spring In The Desert, written by our Bishop elect and his wife, is really good. I’ve been readin’ the book and am enjoyin’ the read.

OMG, that sounds so good. I should bookmark this thread for after Easter, as I have given up meat for Lent.

I love it when an experiment works out.

I should have proofread. Fry the veg in a little sesame oil. Coat the beef in the cornstarch mixture (let it absorb), and deep fry it in oil. (FWIW, I used grape seed oil because that’s what we have.) Whatever, you can wing it as well as I can.

.

Me too, me too! Chocolate is good, more chocolate is better. And pie.

Phoenix the cat is settling in well although I think she’s got a touch of the upper respiratory thing that Animal Friends told me to watch for. She’s going to the vet on Friday and I’ll see what he/she has to say. I’ve tried several times to get photos but no luck so far. I talk to her and remind her to be nice to me because I’m her meal ticket. She is unimpressed.
