Food stuffs that you had the misfortune to find, REALLY didn't work very well, TOGETHER...

I like onions. Often have them raw in a salad, or a sandwich.

I also like making fresh fruit and vegie juices. Sometimes with the right vegies (celery, capsicums) you can get a spicy, savoury flavor that is quite pleasant.

You can see where this is heading.

Boys and girls - NEVER put the smallest bit of onion in your fruit&vegie juice.

Yep, this is extremely common. Sure, you might find only one brand in a small convenience store, but any decent grocery store will have natural, chunky, super chunky, smooth, and even other nuts. Maybe too many choices.

My experiment as a child involved my two faves - peanut butter and ketchup.

My Celtling loves apple slices dipped in ketchup. Urk!

In much this same vein, celery seed and celery salt are not the same. A potato salad recipe that calls for the former isn’t going to do well if you add the latter, particularly if there is other salt involved. My mom was furious about the wasted potatoes.

In terms of 2 great tastes that go horribly together…

I love French fries.
I love guacamole.

Together? Not so much. I think it’s partially that the 2 fats don’t play well together.

I once had root beer brewed with honey instead of sugar.

I suppose that somebody, somewhere might be able to make this work, but the one I tried was awful. It tasted — salty.
