Foods Named after Places

So let’s hear some different foods named after places. they can be towns, cities, states, countries, continents, planes, etc.

I’ll start is off with a few.

Washington Apples (Washington, USA)
Hamburgers (Hamburg, Germany)
Champagne (Champagne, France)

I’ll go with my favorite cheese…Velveeta. Errr…umm…Cheddar!

/Velveeta - not really my favorite cheese

Hot Brown sandwiches
German chocolate cake
Philadelphia cream cheese?

Frankfurters (Frankfurt, Germany)
Braunschweiger (Braunschweig, Germany)
Budweiser (Budweis, Germany)

How about a hotel?

The original Budweiser is from the Czech Republic

Parmesan cheese - Parma, Italy

Just about all European wine is named after the places they originated. A lot of European cheese, as well.

[nitpick] German chocolate cake is named after a person, not a place. [/nitpick]

This is actually named after a person, not the place. Cite.
I’ll add:

Buffalo Wings
Denver Omelet
Baked Alaska

But was part of Germany at the time.

Also, there are all types of sushi rolls named after places. Just about every upscale city has a roll named after them.

Nope, still wrong. Should’ve said Bohemia.

On the subject of beer: Pilsener (Pilsen, Bohemia).

My ignorance has been fought, thank you!

Boston cooler (ginger ale milkshake.) Invented in Detroit. Apparently not actually named after Boston MA.

Mine as well, and thank you for prompting me to look further.

Stilton cheese.

The undisputed king of cheeses

Melton Mowbray Pork Pies

My ignorance fought too! But I still want some cake.

Cornish Pasties
Manhattan Clam Chowder
New England Clam Chowder
Southern Fried chicken

Thought of a couple more…

Boston Cream Pie
Sandwich (I know it’s named after the Earl of Sandwich, but that’s still a place, right?)

Brunswick Stew hails from Brunswick, Georgia (don’t listen to anyone who tells you it’s from Virginia! :p) I will, however, concede Smithfield hams to Virginia.

Vidalia Onions are from Toombs County, Georgia (county seat - Vidalia)

Chicago Pizza
Chicago Hot Dog

What?
