Boiled buckwheat. In Russia, it’s called grechka, and Russians profess to love the stuff. It’s usually served smothered in a thick brown sauce, often with boiled liver. AFAIC, it’s like eating canned dog food. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeech!!! :mad:
I can handle liver if it’s fried properly and served with bacon. But boiled liver? I can take only a bite or two, and then only if I’m really, really hungry!
I also had buckwheat pancakes for breakfast once at a lumberjack restaurant in rural Wisconsin. It was like having a ball of lead in my stomach for the rest of the day.
