And your point is?
Second the avocado hate.

Jello. I’m sorry, but this isn’t food. It just isn’t. No matter how much sugar you add.
Also feta cheese.
Otherwise, I’ll eat anything.
I like collard greens too. I saute some onion and garlic in bacon, and while that’s cooking, I prepare the greens (remove the midrib and wash them). I then turn the heat down to low and let them steam for an hour or so. Yummy!
Not fond of other cooked greens, though. Turnip greens taste good but I don’t like that hairy texture they often have. And spinach was NOT meant to be eaten cooked by itself; it’s great in things like soup, lasagna, or dal (which I made yesterday).
One other thing many people love that I don’t like is crab. I didn’t even like serving it at the restaurant where I worked when I was in college because I didn’t like the smell.
I like liver, but I’m hesitant about eating it ever since I realized that it’s the body’s OTHER toxic waste disposal unit. As for beets, when I eat them, I limit myself to just a bite or two because any more will result in magenta poop a day or two later. :dubious: I realize that’s harmless, but it does freak me out.

Ice cream. Okay, I don’t freakin’ hate it, but that’s because I never have to eat it. Nobody ever says “Finish your ice cream and then you can have some broccoli!” Once at a company lunch where ice cream came aspart of the meal (duh, at the end, as dessert) I gave mine away, and yes, people thought I was weird. “Are you on a diet” No. “Allergic?” Yeah, we’ll go with that.
My husband likes a lot of cruciferous vegetables. To me they smell exactly like garbage. I can’t be sure they don’t taste exactly like garbage because I don’t eat garbage–but that’s what they smell like. That or a bathroom that really needs cleaning. I actually like cabbage in a lot of forms, including sauerkraut, and it smells bad in all forms too, so I guess I accept that some of these things might taste okay, if you could get past the smell, but I can’t.
I have also ranted before about the hamburger with cheese. No. A hamburger with cheese is a CHEESEburger, everybody knows the name. Don’t be puttin’ cheese on my burger.
You’re not alone. President Obama reportedly can’t stand ice cream. It stems from his days as a youth working in a Baskin-Robbins in Hawaii. Or Nairobi or wherever it was.
In college my mom worked one summer on the boardwalk in Atlantic City at a candy store, and apparently they were allowed to graze the displays so she basically lost her sweet tooth - she is one of the few people that are not allergic to chocolate that refuses to eat chocolate.
I find that sort of thing a little strange, because right out of high school I worked in a couple of doughnut shops for about a year and a half, and I still love doughnuts.
Liver
Canned mushroom soup
Strong coffee (I love weak coffee, oddly enough)
Fat on meat
IPA ales…give me a lager or a pale ale any day though.
Dark chocolate.
This list might make you think I am a super taster, but I do like brussels sprouts, okra, and winter squash, which most super tasters abhor.
Is liver something that other people really “freaking love”? I wouldn’t have thought so.
Apart from creamy sauces I mentioned earlier, I also hate avocados and mangoes. My friends and colleagues think I’m weird. Possibly I am.
And licorice unless you’re Scandinavian/Nordic. I’d say at least 90% of Americans hate the taste, at least under a certain age. Meanwhile, up North they cover licorice with an astringent salt!
I hate cake/doughnuts, beef, mayo and beer.
Oh you mean stuff Dutch ppl like Me likey.
Sure. My Father would rather have calves’ liver and onions than anything else. One of my brothers eats chicken livers at least once a week.
I worked at a Baskin-Robbins as a teenager, and I still love ice cream. I even like BR31, too and now live in a city that has a store, although fortunately for my waistline, it’s not near my house.
I agree that there are some people who like these things. Good for them - they can have mine - but I wouldn’t describe liver as a food ‘lots’ of people like, unlike chocolate, tomatoes or many other items posted as being hated by the poster.
Perhaps the sugar is the problem … have you tried a savory jello?

Yeah, like I said, working in doughnut shops did not sour me on doughnuts. I do remember I could not smell the doughnuts anymore after a short while, that good doughnut-shop smell that hits you when you walk in the door. That did come back though, after I stopped working in the shops.
