I woke up this morning much later than I usually do and couldn’t recall much of Sunday evening. In fact I was surprised to learn it was Monday. I had a few vague memories of staggering about on Sunday evening but that was it. Then I noticed my supply of librium–approximately 10 pills–was missing.
The doctor had prescribed them to me last fall and I’d ignored them–until yesterday. Then, after swilling a load of cheap beer, I decided to take one, and since one made me feel good I took another. And another. At least that’s what I guess happened, seeing as there’s no more librium left and all I’ve got is a few vague memories of bumping into things.
But it could be worse. At least I didn’t turn out like Karen Ann Quinlan.
Maybe it’s seasonal or maybe it’s the power of suggestion… but there seems to be an awful lot going on lately that suggests late april/early may is a time for losing control because of alcohol.
I know that I seem to be drinking a whole lot more as of late. I haven’t been getting any more drunk or out of controll, but I have been drinking more.
I had a friend who pulled a similar stunt in college. He had a little container full of klonapins (sp?) and one night when he was on mushrooms, he knocked it over. Two days later he woke up and figured out that he was tripping so hard that as he had picked them up, he ate them one by one without realizing it! Luckily there were no other depressants in his system or he may not have survived.
I’ve seen some drugs, folks, and there is nothing, nothing, like Klonopin. That’s the one drug I would tell everyone to say no to. Not coke. Not speed. Not heroin. Klonopin. That is the one drug that will take control and refuse, absolutely refuse to let go. Yeesh! I’ve seen people do crazy things on that stuff–or should I say, I’ve seen Klonopin do crazy things through people!
