foolsguinea, get your worthless self down here.

The “ethnic arrogance” and criticism of Israel was a nice touch. Because nothing says you’re not anti-Semitic like making anti-Semitic statements!

I’m about as honky, cracker white as can be and I wouldn’t know a Jewish person if they walked up and smacked me with a gefilte fish.

No decent Jew would foster gefilte fish on a poor, unsuspecting goy. It’s like making non-Swedes eat lutefisk.

Now I’m really confused. Performance art, or sincerely terrible apology?

Thems fighting words! My goyim hubby loves my gefilte fish, as do my kids. My mom made the best homemade.

Now chicken feet and galah on the other hand…

I don’t get threads like these. It’s always some hyperbole about how so-and-so is scum because they said something (gasp) RACIST! (or anti-semitic, homophobic, misogynistic, or any kind of “ic”) Then I click on the link, expecting some KKK Grandmaster tirade, but it’s usually some offhanded remark that endangers absolutely no one. The analysts and talking heads chime in, speculating on content and meaning, thereby increasing the hyperbole. After the dust settles, the finger-pointer and fellow offendeds have actually spouted more hate than the finger-pointed.

All sound and fury, signifying nothing.

So, offended person, what did you accomplish when you exposed these horrible words? Did it single-handedly change society’s views? Did you inspire the quoted to renounce their erroneous ways and dedicate their lives to eliminate hate? Or did you just do it for the OMG drama?

I can top anyone in the disgusting food department.

My late mother:

made baked apples with diet soda.

made tuna fish sandwiches topped with Kraft American “cheese.”

served cottage cheese with wheat germ for breakfast.

made stuffed cabbage so smelly you started to gag half a mile away.

cooked steak well-well-well done.

turned liver and onions into shoe leather and burnt brown stuff.

Her only real edible dinners were pot roast and Chinese take out.

Whether I’m offended or not, I think it’s a good and positive thing to point out racist statements, and challenge racist statements.

Some are fine with ignoring such things, and that’s okay, but it’s also okay to point it out, challenge it, and even mock it.

You have a point. It really is a low blow to accuse someone of eating pastrami on white with mayonnaise and sweet relish. But it could have been worse. We could have accused him of not liking Chinese food!

:stuck_out_tongue:

If they did, there’d be disgusting fragments of predigested-looking grayish-white fish crap all over the place. Gefilte fish doesn’t hold together well as an offensive weapon.

But what do I know about haute cuisine? I actually like the Arby’s double corned beef sandwich. With mayo.

That’s definitely not kosher.

Offtopic, but the only gefilte fish I have easy access to is some preserved ones in a jar I can get at my local supermarket’s ethnic food aisle. If I buy that, what kind of taste should I expect? I’ve already bought matzo balls from there and I like them just fine. But something about unrefrigerated fish in a jar scares me…

Whoa! Whoa! Just hold on a minute! I’d rather be called a cunty-cunt than accused of that!

You could have at least put it under a spoiler tag! Now I have to find a way to remove that vile image from my mind.

eta: and I get to the second page and see you haven’t stopped! ::shudder::

The taste is very mild. We always ate it with horseradish to give it some kick. The texture might take a little getting used to, as with the jelly.

I buy that stuff, too. I simmer it in its jelly with carrot slices, sliced sweet onion and parsley until warmed through and tasty. Really freshens the taste!

If you can get the frozen kind it’s even better.

Mom made lutefisk once. It didn’t turn out well. Of course we aren’t Swedish either.

I think I’d rather have the gefilte fish.

Is your name, by any chance, Henry McCullers?

If the SDMB teaches us anything, it is that one can expect such a person to be very stupid indeed, at least on occasion.

Regards,
Shodan

LOL, that’s great! I’m totally that guy!

I think if one takes an honest, objective look at the world since WW2, most of us in the US can agree that things could have easily turned out a lot worse, and that this shadowy Jewish cabal is actually one of the best things to happen to the world

Wow! :smack:  I’ve seen the SDMB jump on me when I deviate from political correctness. I’ll let you pick on me again. And BTW, anyone who thinks I’m anti-Semitic knows nothing about me.
the Jews aren’t actually running much of anything globally; they just want to feel like they’re in the halls of power internationally. I don’t think I’d fully processed that until just now.
This is not clearly anti-Semitic. It seems more like musing. Or is musing disallowed?

This comment does not compute. If the Jews “look at themselves in a favorable light like everyone else,” we must remain mute? Pretentious Dopers certainly look at themselves in a favorable light; may I point that out?

I’m not sure of the full charges against foolsguinea, but writing truth seems to be a main one. FWIW, I detest Mel Gibson, but Jewish presence in Hollywood is strong. Although the fact of strong Jewish presence in Hollywood management is well-known, I’ve never given the matter any thought till I saw this thread. I was curious and started clicking Wikipedia.

The following people were all raised as Jews.

Sumner Murray Redstone (né Rothstein), magnate of CBS-Viacom
Jack and Sam Warner, founders of Warner Bros.
Samuel Goldwyn (né Szmuel Gelbfisz)
David Geffen, cofounder of Drreamworks SKG
Steven Spielberg, cofounder of Drreamworks SKG
Jeffrey Katzenberg, cofounder of Drreamworks SKG
Michael Eisner, CEO of Disney
Bob and Harvey Weinstein, founders of Miramax
Joseph M. Schenck, co-founder of 20th Century Pictures
William Fox (né Fried), founder of Fox Films
Adolph Zukor, founder of Paramount
Jesse L. Lasky, co-founder of Paramount
Marcus Loew, founder of MGM
Louis B. Mayer (né Lazar Meir), founder of Mayer Pictures (later MGM)
David O. Selznick, producer of Gone with the Wind
Joel and Ethan Coen, producers of Fargo
Sherry Lansing (née Duhl), CEO of Paramount etc.

I was startled! Almost every click led to “Jewish.” The only clicks that didn’t were for Darryl F. Zanuck and Cecil B. DeMille; the latter had a Jewish mother.

I draw no inference. But watching the Board pretend Hollywood is not “dominated by Jews” is amusing.
