Of all the rotten comments I’ve heard slung around this week, this is one of the rottenest.
Whatever you think of Michael for starting a new family with another woman (and you’ve made you’re opinion pretty clear in other posts) you cannot deny that he loved Terri, fought long and hard for her wishes to be fulfilled, and cares for her still. (Ironically, had he cared less well for her, this whole court mess might not even be happening, as she easily could have died of some infection long before now.) 15 years after her brain died, he’s finally going to have to face her body’s death, which wouldn’t be happening if he had given up fighting her parents. He wins the court fight, and the prize is that his wife gets to die. Only God could know the kinds of self-conflicts he’s experiencing right now. Are you presuming to be God, and know that his thoughts are pure evil?
I suspect he’s sad to see his wife finally die after all these years, I suspect that in a way he’s feeling relieved, which is not uncommon and is hardly shameful; but I do not REALLY know what he’s feeling, and neither do you. Ascribing a truly heartless emotion (enjoying watching his wife die) to a man you’ve never actually met because you don’t agree with him is incredibly nasty, and dare I say it, unChristian.
You’re so right! How foolish I was to think that morality is complicated and life is full of difficult decisions! Now I see that Abbie’s smug moral superiority is the true arbiter of righteousness! Praise Abbie! Praise Her!!!
I don’t see this as being a major legal blunder on Felos’ side. A dying person’s peaceful appearance isn’t in any way attached to their consciousness or lack thereof. It’s simply a thing that happens to one when they are passing from a disease or condition that has had them languishing. Maybe the pro-life camp on this matter will, but I doubt it as well.
Sam
P.S.- Bravo duffer and Abbie. You guys have already had your asses handed to you, but I just want to let you know-you’re two of the dumbest fucks on this board. Duffer, dontcha think it’s in bad form to crucify yourself on a messageboard on Easter? I think Jesus needs his wood back.
Heh. I’m going to apologize in advance for the following comment:
If you really could lose such large amounts of weight in just 9 days with no food, you’d have millions of overweight Americans going on the Terri Schiavo Diet tomorrow.
For accuracy’s sake, I would prefer this to say ‘her parents and their supporters.’ Those who seek to override Terri’s wishes are hardly her supporters, after all.
You know, generally speaking, Abbie, you seem like a reasonably intelligent person. What, exactly, makes you think that Michael Schiavo and his attornies are trying to kill Terri out of nothing more than malice/avarice? I’ve only ever seen you make drive-bys, never actual arguments. On the off hand chance that you come back to this thread… well, what’s up with that? What, exactly, is your take on this situation?
Feel free to email me if you don’t want to draw any more hostility in this thread. Address is in my profile.
Fucking mean-spirited evil cunt.
I can’t say what I really want to say, even if this is the pit, but there is a special level in hell reserved for people like you.
Jesus Christ on a cracker. I can’t think of a more hateful, less Christian thing to say.
Truthfully, I’m glad you’re not in my state. I’d hate to go to a lawyer to have a living will drawn up and having you refuse to do it because gasp my wishes don’t agree with you and your bullshit theology.
I thought abby was a guy…
It’s a wee hard to breathe in here with all the moral sanctity and righteous swirling around. Could someone open the window of reason, please?
oh-it’s been painted shut for too long?
That sucks. Maybe we should tear the building down.
She’s allegedly in college to be a paralegal. She’s not going to have a long or happy career if she doesn’t learn to keep her yap shut and her opinions to herself.
