David Cook’s older brother Adam lost his long fight with brain cancer today. Ironically, DC himself announced it himself after completing a charity run to raise funds for brain cancer research. He flew there after completing a concert in Fla late last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN0VUskg3WU&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fmjsbigblog%2Ecom%2F%3Fp%3D7259%26cp%3Dall&feature=player_embedded
He canceled some shows a few weeks ago to say goodbye to his brother, who he often referred to as his hero. I think that’s why he’s able to make a few wisecracks in that speech, he’s known this was coming for a long time.
His “team” in the fund-raiser raised $90,000.
Not surprising, but very sad. I hope DC and family are doing OK.
I should have noted that people can still donate to that Race for Hope. Here’s the link - http://www.braintumorcommunity.org/site/TR/Events/RFH-DC2009?team_id=23010&pg=team&fr_id=1340
I donated in memory of my father who died from a brain tumor.
That speech must have been so difficult to do…
:’(
I just read about this tonight. So sad. Poor David.
I am also bummed that he’s coming to Cleveland! --while I’m away on my honeymoon. boo!
WHEN is he coming to Cleveland??? (does happy dance)
Well, May 26 according to this site, but I’ve seen other tour date lists that don’t include it, so who knows?
Ugh, that video totally made me cry.
