andros - I can sympathize. I quit LBMB completely for over a week, then the rest of these loons started talking about their posts over there, and next thing I knew, I’d succumbed again.
But it does get tiring, talking to the same brick walls, over and over again, and the past few days, I’ve only been able to stay over there for long enough to write a post, then get the hell out of Hell, which is what their infernal* color scheme never fails to make me think of.
*Yes, that was deliberate.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I keep thinking that I might do the same thing. But then I go back and I don’t want the yo-yos to think they’ve won (which they tend to assume if the opposition drops out). But I haven’t been there to post since Friday. Just don’t have the time right now.
And as soon as I say that, I pop into the “Satan/Saten” thread and make a quick remark… Well, at least I noted that I didn’t have time for c/e arguments right now. Also wondered aloud what anagrams we could make of other people’s names…
Shhhh! We probably shouldn’t advertise any more than we already do!
I posted to Monk’s conspiracy thread as well – a quickie. I had to respond to his questions about whether I accept Christ, etc. I took the tack nightmare used before, turning it back on the questioner and pointing out that it has nothing to do with the discussion at hand.
Also, I see that Stan has transplanted another thread from here over there (I did that with Gaudere’s prayer thread a little while ago) – asking if atheists can be moral. First answer: Sure, but they’ll still go to Hell! What a God, I tell ya!
Did anyone else SEE the “Assault on Christians” thread?? The IDIOT is saying that the Serbs DESERVE to be raped and tortured by the Albanians, because it’s okay to get revenge. ARGH! What a LOVELY Christian attitude! I swear…I want a sign now that says “I’m Christian, but I’m not like them! HONEST!”
And finally…this should be fun over in Satan’s thread…ghoti asked me where in the Constitution teaching creationism isn’t allowed. Looks like it’s time for the 'ol gov. major (who took 2 years of individual rights courses in college…) to teach them about the Bill of Rights. (Which, according to ghoti, is NOT part of the Constitution. Who knew??)

I haven’t seen the thread on the Albanians yet, but I did see Monk, in the Conspiracy thread (in the End Times area) saying that we shouldn’t have sided with the Kosovars because the Serbs are the ones being repressed. After all, we’re siding with those who sided with the Nazis in WWII! He ignored the fact that we’re allies with Germany when I pointed that little tidbit out. All in all, he’s quite insane.
Incidentally, I just popped in to look at the thread you mentioned, Falcon, and Monk is being far more reasonable here than he was in the original thread I mentioned.
Thank you DavidB! I have another comment for Thomas…wondering if it’s worth it to post. I don’t really have the energy for a flame war right now.
And amazingly enough…I might be able to have a semi-reasonable discussion on church/state issues with ghoti. Started a new thread for it…we’ll see. At least he’s reasonable.

Ghoti is more reasonable than most. For example, he reads (or at least claims to) publications on the evolution side of the c/e debate (Navigator, for example, admits he only reads stuff by creationists). Now, he still goes into it with a heavy bias and does not quite understand the way the scientific method works, and is prone to taking quotes and making them appear to be more than they actually are, but that’s not bad for a literalist.
I know David…and right now I’ll take that. At least he TRIES to actually debate, instead of spouting off. I’m just glad he’s not a raving loon like Thomas…
“There is no worse lie than a truth misunderstood by those who hear it.” - William James
Well, he does his fair share of spouting off. And I caught him several times with questions he wouldn’t answer in earlier threads (the deleted ones). He’s no angel – just better than most creationists.
LOL! This is true…I’m curious to see what’ll happen in my thread. There’s a few other people who seem to agree with me, so who knows. Should be interesting, at least. (And I expect y’all to back me up, dammit!)
“There is no worse lie than a truth misunderstood by those who hear it.” - William James
Well, I already nailed Ghoti about his Jefferson remark in the thread that spawned your thread. He just said I misunderstood him and he’d be happy to explain in your thread. So I guess I’ll repost it there and await his explanation…
You grow weary, and you’ve only been there a couple days! (How did you manage to sign on, by the way?) Imagine how I feel! But sometimes I just blow in and post a bunch of messages (like I did today).
The problem is that their whole system is based on being repetitive. Anything that’s been sitting for a couple weeks – deleted. (And, apparently, anything else they don’t want around as well.) So it’s not like around here, where we can say, “Oh, yeah, we discussed that a month ago. See this link.” Frankly, while I doubt it was planned that way, that is the best way to run a creationist message board. Make the same stupid accusations over and over again, and force the evilutionists to repeat themselves until they get tired of it and go away. It’s the same thing people like Duane Gish do. Even if he is absolutely proven wrong in a debate, he will make the same exact claim the next time he’s debating, and it’s likely his new opponent won’t have the right answer handy. To heck with the guy who had it last time. It’s not a search for knowledge, it’s preaching.
I am LOL at what RTFirefly did to make Page 9 appear!
I thought a new page was begun when the old one reached 100K or so. Live and learn. (I hope.)
Hey, David B, howsabout asking the LBMB what they think of the Christianity of the Oklahoma Kid? No doubt they’ll blame video games, movies, books that oughtta be banned because they’re so EVIL or something similar. They’re soooo predictable.
