For Sale – a less-than-Perfect-Child – cheap. Will deliver.

Yes, I know you are only jesting and I am not being critical in any way. However, I am a 62 year old with one son who married but has not yet had any children. All I can say is: the day will come, all to soon, when you will wish those voices were still in the next room. Sorry, but I had to say it. Now, I am off to report you to their grandmother. ;j

Bricker, she’s a very good babysitter. In fact, lately she’s been saying she wished she knew someone with a little baby that she could dress up in all the cute little kid clothes that she see in the store. At least she’s not talking about making one of her own!

And I have a $500 bid from the man whose wife wants Mel Gibson to do their laundry.

Jester, you mean to tell me they didn’t weep and wail when you packed your bags for college??

abogan - you hush. I’m in deep denial about that. In less than 2 years, she’ll be headed to a university somewhere and I’ll be headed to southern Maryland where my husband and I will be building our retirement home. For all intents and purposes, once she graduates, she’ll no longer live with us, since she doesn’t want to leave Florida. I can ignore it till it happens. So hush.

And you can’t tell her grandmothers because one is cruising to Hawaii and the other just had a knee replaced, so she’s dealing with physical therapy and painkillers. So there! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, FCM, college was obviously their last resort. After years of trying to find somebody to pay them for me, they finally had to pay UVA just to take me. At least I’m getting an education this way. But if they’d had access to the boards, things might not have turned out much worse…

Make that “things might have turned out much worse…” and my post above will actually make sense. Trust me.

Actually, she keeps using the phrase “and other duties as assigned” which means she probably also wants him to help with the yard work.

Right? After all, what else could he do around the house while I’m at work all day?

She also says she’ll settle for George Clooney if Mel isn’t available.

FCM,

I’d look at renting her out for a competitive rate.

I have two wee daughters and won’t be surprised if my hair changes instantaneously from auburn to white when they hit their teenage years.

Mind you, the heir is only a few months away from being an official teenager and the spare is 9 going on 17.

I’ll be ready for whatever comes. Mind you, I may be tempted to sell one or more of them off depending on the circumstances.

Besides this, we are very likely going to become foster parents within the next couple of years.

We’re masochists. Whip us, beat us, or give us a few more children.

well, heck, Feynn, with all them kids, surely you won’t notice one more?? Tho making her move to the frosty wilds of Canadia is gonna be nigh on to impossible. The little wuss claims she doesn’t like cold. Or snow. Or ice.

Lurkmeister - yeah. Yard work. Gotta be yard work.

Feynn, my kids are almost the same age as yours. My first turned 13 yesterday and the second (and last) is 9 1/2. FCM, while I’m not prepared to take your Perfect Child,[sup]TM[/sup] I would like to use your description of her to annoy my Perfectly Acceptable Children[sup]TM[/sup] with tales of this teenager I know of who does dishes and scoops dog poop and cheerfully does her parents’ bidding at all times.

Cheerfully? That’s stretching it ever-so-slightly…

Wow, beagledave, she sure is growing quickly! I remember you posting pictures when she’d just been born! She looks lovely
