I understand we’ve upgraded to a shiny new server recently. So why have threads been timing out, and posts been hanging, and threads not been loading?
Am I the only one having problems?
FTR, this thread took 15+ minutes to finally load.
It hasn’t been as bad as it was before the upgrade, but, yeah, I’ve been having loading-time problems. I’ll sometimes be browsing a forum, opening interesting threads in new tabs, go to read one, and - oh, fark, they’re all still loading! This was the main source of extreme agita with the pre-upgrade SDMB, and it’s distressing that it’s still going on.

We’re in that gray area between being in a situation with potential to be better and actually having it be better. Jerry is still tweaking stuff to implement stuff the old board had and make the new vBulletin agree with the old stuff and the current hardware. So yes, we are in a better spot, but we haven’t quite figured out how to turn on the part that makes it better yet, in essence. Darkest just before the dawn etc etc.
