I’ve been on and off the board for the past seven hours, and I have to say it’s been moving beautifully. I dunno if it’s the vB upgrade, or maybe it happens to be a slow day, but damn, it’s flying.
I realize it may be temporary- supply and demand and all- but I figured there’s so many people bitching that some good words were in order. Thanks!
I noticed the same thing. The board usually crawls for me and today it has been zooming right along. EXCELLENT! 
Yeah, it crawled before and I ended up using the “Back” button and double posting. The new look is indeed welcome

This message was the last one I was able to read earlier tonight before I started getting “cannont find server” and “the gateway did not receive a timely and complete response” type errors.
gah… and someone jinxed my formatting.
I swear! All I’ve had today was one tiny sip of Jack Daniels Single Barrel just to see if it was as good as they say it is. (oh wow…it is) But that was just one sip - perhaps a quarter teaspoon.
Must be some other reason I can’t type today. <looks at bandaged knuckle> Gotta be some reason. <looks at bandaged fingertip on other hand>
Anyway, hwat I wanted to say all along was that re-indexing the message DB is probably a big hunk of our speed increase. That and what I can only assume to be better overall efficiency in the new vBulletin software. Perhaps if the CR wizards could run a DB tuner (it’s rather like defragging a hard drive) every so often, it wouldn’t become a big mess of null tables, cross-links and other digital detritus.
