For The Religious: What about other gods?

I will be the one to stay on topic. It’s actually a very easy question to answer:

As a Christian, I believe God lives in heaven, which is somewhere in the clouds. He has long white hair and a long, white beard. Although he didn’t write them down, he thought up the Ten Commandments, which he expects us to abide by, to the letter. He and his boys’ exploits were faithfully described in his biography, which we call the Bible. We are expected to learn life lessons from that book (e.g. don’t eat fruit you’re told not to eat, like that bitch in the garden).

If the deity of someone else’s religion is exactly like my deity, except for some small difference, like, say, he sports a brunette sole patch and flat-top instead of a white beard and long hair, then I would say that his religion is 99% correct.

If the deity of someone else’s religion is about half the same as my deity, like, say, he is a black, lesbian midget, with only Five Commandments, and a daughter who tells us, do unto others as you would do unto your worst enemy, then I would say that his religion is 50% correct.

If the deity of someone else’s religion is completely different from my deity, like, say, he’s made entirely out of anti-matter, has Ten Bizzaro Commandments (e.g. Thou shall take my name in vain whenever you feel like it, Thou shall commit adultery whenever you can get away with it etc.) and who’s Bible is nothing but tales of he and his boy’s deviant sexual behavior and exploits, then I would say that his religion is 1% correct.

With you, the atheist, who’s deity is made of 100% nothing, while my deity is made of 100% something, I would say that your religion is 0% correct.

For someone trying to be on topic, I’d say you missed it by a mile. I wasn’t asking about the correctness of religions other than your own. I was asking what you thought about the existence of gods other than your own.

My bad. Let me re-phrase:
Scenario #1: I believe that god had a 99% chance of existing
Scenerio #2: I believe that god has a 50% chance of existing
Scenerio # 3: I believe that god has a 1% chance of existing
Atheist god: I believe has a 0% chance of existing

  1. Atheists don’t have a god.
  2. Do you really believe that a “black, lesbian midget, with only Five Commandments, and a daughter who tells us, do unto others as you would do unto your worst enemy” god has an actual 50% chance of existing, or are you just substituting the word “chance” for the word “correct”?

1: I believe a god made of nothing is fairly equivalent to no god.
2: I see your point; the thought of god being a woman is rather preposterous…but, sole patch and flat-top—absolutely.

Yeah. Thanks for playing.

I thought it was SOUL patch, like soul brother, soul power and Don Cornelius “Peace, love and soul.”

Hold the phone…how did you establish that your God (and your God alone) is made of “something”, and what’s that “something” he’s made of?

(And FTR, according to science, even “nothing” is made of something.)

The new thread is here.

While we are not in the habit of closing threads just because the OP asks, I would say that this one has run is course, so I am closing it.
