She and I noticed each other for the first time at about the same time. Both thought a little, “Hey now!” then both remembered we were currently committed. We became friendly acquaintances but always kept it at “uninvolved coworker” status. Without collusion of any kind (really, we weren’t even close enough to talk about personal issues), we both dumped our SOs at about the same time, accidentally found out about it, and after a couple weeks of “really, nothing serious, we’re both on rebound so…this is just recreation, ok?” we finally shuffled off into the sunset both happier than we ever thought we had a right to be.
Weird. But would you expect anything less from me?
