Do you ever get bored?
On a Friday night, have you ever said “Gah, there’s nothing to do. I’m just going to stay home.”?
Do you ever get bored?
On a Friday night, have you ever said “Gah, there’s nothing to do. I’m just going to stay home.”?
That IS my plan for this and almost every other Friday.
At my age? “Nothing to do, I’m just going to stay home” is my idea of a hot night.
When I was younger, though, there was always the option of dinner, nightclubs, dancing, movies, plays, cabarets, or just strolling around the Village after work or on weekends. Hell, there still are those options, but that bed and that book and that cup of tea look so tempting after a hard day at the office . . .
Yeah, sure, all the time. Although it’s never really because there is nothing to do, it’s because I’m crabby.
I live about 30 miles outside the city, and it’s not so much that I’m bored, I’m just POOR. I’m not going to pay at least $6 to go into the city and pay $8 per drink in a bar I can’t even smoke in!
I’m a little bitter.
Fallen under the spell of the Big Apple, huh PalJuicy? New York is exactly as exciting and as boring as any other big city. Your experience of a place is what you make of it.
Sure, I stay home and relax some nights. The atmosphere of the city is such that some days I can’t wait to get home and just chill out. However, I guess it’s much easier for me than it would be in a smaller town to walk out of work, and just stop by a bar or club or movie theater if I don’t feel like going home yet. I do this occasionally, as well.
As I’ve gotten older, I more prefer doing stuff in NYC during the day than the night. Except at Christmas time.
