for those of us who lost 25% or more of our post count

I think I was around 120-130 at the time, when we came back, 37. Not to mention about 50 at the temp board. Oh well, it’s not you can trade them in for valuable cash and prizes, or can you?

I can’t recall my pre count, but want to know why they were lost!

I went from about 200 to about 40.

Poo.

all that wisdom lost… adrift somewhere in that great bitbucket in the sky…

I weep for humanity’s loss…

I was closing in on 90, and came back to 7. What hurts is that I’m a shitty typer. That 80 posts must have been worth dozens of hours of wasted time. Just like working for a living.

I went from roughly 140 to 55. Pretty nasty loss, proportionally at least. I’m steadily rebuilding my foundations, though.

okay, the game is you have to guess what game I’m playing and if you get it right you have to start a new game and we all have to guess what it is is. Here goes:

jy6ygy7ynfefcy, game (bottom won)

I lost half of mine.

I was registered after Dec. 7, so I lost all my posts! And I was approaching the magical 100 mark!
(Besides job hunting, there’s not much else to do when you’re unemployed. Just landed a job yesterday, though. )

I had also started a lovely little thread in this forum entitled, “My family is obsessed with farts,” or somesuch. I felt so validated that others responded! I was real! Then the Hacking Weasels™ apparently attacked.

When the board came back up, I tried to log on. The system refused my username, “DennisMoore” and my password, “none of your business.” So I tried to re-register using my old info. No soap. OK, I thought, I’ll re-register using a different name. The system would not allow “Phineas T. Smegma” but “P.T. Smegma” was OK. Lovely. Then I thought, "What if someone, particularly a mod or admin, thinks I’m being a sock? " I mean, sometimes I may smell a little “socky,” but who doesn’t? So I emailed Tuba explaining my situation. She said all was cool. All hail Tuba!

Now, damnit, I am unashamedly trying to pad my post count. I hope I have been sufficiently mundane and pointless.

whatmove, I have no idea.

Well I had around 1200 back before the boards went away, and then about 750 or so when they came back.

I lost 400 of my 850 posts. :frowning:

You’re counting your posts? Why?

Hmm… maybe it is basketball…

You know what I miss? All those really fun threads about why people like post counts and what they get out of it. I mean some of those were explicitly started for raising your post count.
/^/^/^/^/^/^/^/^/^/^/^/\

Hell, I lost all of mine.
But in my opinion that little number under folks user name is meaningless.

Some people who post in this forum are obsessed with post counts.
I simply do not understand this fixation.
Here I made another post, ooooooh, what am I up to now? I must be smart I’ve made more post than you have.
Is that the logic on this message board?

Sniffle I had a thousand-something-hundred posts (something > 1, of course)…

Whatmove, is there something about those Ys and Fs that I’m just not getting?

darksight, in this thread I posted this:

Anyway, most of what I see about post counting is related to the fourth point. It’s meant as something humorous, not as a badge of authority. After all, I could have a ridiculously high count eventually and still post crap like this!

I read your post and got a giggle out of it.
I posted in that thread as well.
The strange thing is I don’t think I would have ever noticed the post count number.
I have been reading these boards for about a year.
It just seems strange how often the matter of post counts comes up on this board.

I truly wish mine would stay at one so everyone would think THAT crap was his first post to this board ~
