For those that walk outside regularly. Prefer winter or summer?

This is a binary choice, no spring/fall bullshit.

I’d rather be wearing boots/coat/gloves/scarf walking in snow.

No question, definitely summer! I’ve never liked being cold or being in the cold. It doesn’t get too hot here in summer most of the season.

All depends on temperature. Summer at night, winter by day.

If I had to choose, I’d take summer nights. Warm here in Texas, silent, quiet. Only problem is the mosquitoes.

Definitely summer, the heat and humidity do not bother me. I manage by drinking more water and electrolytes. I enjoy the heat.

Winter and the cold elements that come with it totally sucks. IMHO man was not created to exist in winter conditions, he learned to adapt to them.

Going outside to sweat?!? Blech!

Nice crisp +10C is when it starts to get enjoyable.

Is “both” allowed?

I’ve hiked in 30+° (C) and in -1°.

Neither felt bad, but I was suitably prepared.

I’m a winter walker. Can’t’ stand the heat. I still walk in summer, but only early in the morning and not when it’s over 70F.

No it is not.

Summer. But we live in a place with mild summers and harsh winters.

I have done many miles in boots through the snow. When our dog was younger, she loved it. Not so much now that she’s middle aged (~10).

I have walked to work in -40 C. Properly dressed, it was nice and brisk.

I’m 72. If the temperature is between 50 and 80, I walk outside. Otherwise, I walk at the Y.

Summer.

Summer for sure. Winter requires too much prep, clothes-wise. I walk it all with the dog and he prefers summer too.

Summer. Walking is just so much easier in shorts and light weight shoes.

Winter, but our winters are fairly mild.

Summer weather sometimes means storms that come up quickly and I’m not fond of being outside during a thunderstorm.

Winter.

Summer. Temperatures here are only rarely above 25C, usually 15-20C.

Also there’s only about 7 hours of daylight in winter, and it’s very often overcast or a drizzle.

In Hokkaido, it’s not that bad in the summer but it was brutal when I lived in Taiwan.

I don’t mind winters because I grew up in Salt Lake City but my Taiwanese wife can’t walk on ice or snow.

Summer for sure! Where I live, a summer’s day averages about 70F, perfectly pleasant without being hot. Whereas winter, though rarely very cold, can be quite dark and dank.

Having to choose a full season, I’d say winter–you can always put on more layers when you are cold.

Our summers are hot and steamy, so humidity also plays a factor.
Our winters are usually mild, but there is the occasional day with strong winds that cut right through you.

In other words, both seasons are quite capable of producing a “Nope!” moment at the front door.
