For those who didn't think Carolina deserved to be at the big dance..

HA!!

I don’t think they will responding to you, Asmodeus, as all those crow feathers are hard to get down.

How 'bout those Badgers?

This has been a wild tournament. Of the four teams to make it, one is a No. 5 seed and two are No. 8’s. Incredible. I think the NCAA seeding committee has proved to be as stupid as the media trolls.

Amen, Asmodeus. I, for one, have had Carolina in the company NCAA pool since day 1. Now the only thing that bugs me is my wife and I are Gators, so it’s either a win-win situation or a lose-lose situation, depending on how I look at it. My Gators win, I lost over a hundred bucks, but my favorite team wins, and vice versa. I’m gonna have a hard time rooting against the Heels, though. I love 'em. P.S. UNC is about 5 miles from my house.

Sure I’ll respond. No crow’s feathers here. I pull for Duke. They lost. I still pull for Duke. No Carolina did not deserve to go. They had a rotten season. They are just now starting to play basketball. Redemption for them has come later than for most teams who have won all season. But, at the end of the game it’s who has the highest score. Not how they got there or if they deserve it. Even most Carolina fans would agree with that (at least the ones I know here in North Carolina)

I’ve learned that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it.

Carolina did not deserve an at large bid, as many Tarheel fans have acknowledged. As was pointed out continuously during their last game, they failed to win more than three games in a row all season, until now. That being said, they’ve obviously played well in the tournament and have earned their spot in the Final Four. Quite possibly Notre Dame could have done the same thing. Of course, only having two ACC teams in the tournament would have violated NCAA rule 1875.987.432(a)(1)(e), which requires all persons affiliated with the NCAA and/or CBS to display constant and perpetual obsequiousness to Carolina, Duke, and the ACC generally, although all other ACC teams are fair game for criticism.

Minor correction:

That is NCAA rule 875.987.432(a)(1)(f)

Carolina had 13 losses for crying out loud. They did not deserve a spot in the tourney. What they are doing now proves that they’ve had the talent to perform well all along. (After all, they are loaded with McDonalds All-Americans.) Until now, though, they haven’t shown that they had the drive, the will (or perhaps the coaching) to win.

They should be in the NIT final four right now, along with Wake and NC State.

Florida will crush UNC, by the way.

Well…are we forgetting something…aren’t there two teams in from the Big Ten?! And there should have been 3…but seeing as Purdue and Wisconsin had to play each other made it slightly unfair. But anyways…can anyone beat the Big Ten…or Michigan State in particular?

what was carolina’s rpi going into the selection process?

Name two quality wins Carolina had in the regular season. (Wins over tourney teams.)

I’m sorry idiotboy. The only conference that I truly keep up with regularly is the ACC, since that is the conference in my area. I have to take the word of you guys that live in the other conference areas on what is fair or unfair for those teams. I try to keep up, but I’m not faithful about it.

I’m just being silly…but seriously…it’s like a changing of the guard this year. The ACC is looking it’s weakest in decades…and the Big Ten is stronger than ever. However, I was truly upset to see Ohio State play so poorly against Miami. If they would have won that game…they would have breezed right by Tulsa and North Carolina and on into the final four…entering as the THIRD Big Ten team in the Final Four, with a rivalry ridden Final of Ohio St and Mich St. What a game that would have been!

You’re right, spoke-. My bad–I always get those two confused.
