For those who have lost canine friends

A cartoon that will give some solace, with a nod to Terry Pratchett.

Brought fresh tears to my eyes. They’re all the best. Every single one of them.

I have owned three dogs over my life but the most recent was very special to me. She lived for 17 years and passed away two and a half years ago. I still miss her very much. That cartoon was sweet.

Not Dave’s dog next door. She’s a piece of shit!

Somebody else posted the link I have here, I forget which thread, but it says a lot about how we relate to our dogs. It’s a cartoon called “My dog the paradox”

I’ve owned three previous dogs, all the greatest. My current dog is approaching 15 and is starting to get a very weak rear end :frowning: He is also the greatest. Thanks for the link (same to Baker).

Indeed.

I don’t mean to sound like a shill, but check out Gunnar’s Wheels; you might be able to get a cart for your beastie free of charge, for as long as you need it. Worth a look.

This Friday is the six year anniversary of our first dog’s passing. It still stings. Saturday is our wedding anniversary. Our current two K9s are also the best; ain’t it amazing how that works?

Aww. Those cartoons were great.
I just lost my 13 1/2 year old Golden, but I have the solace that her genes live on in about 200 descendants, of whom 70 - 100 are working guide dogs.
She had a seizure and came out of it paralyzed, so the decision was relatively easy to make. And the night before she let some little kids pet her. She was sweet and gentle right up to the end.

(bolding mine)

That is fantastic. A wonderful legacy.

I agree.

Crap, I just got something in my eyes.

I look like someone just threw a bucket of water at my face :sob:
