For those who tap their toes to the music

I played French horn all through school. The bell of the horn rests on your right thigh. If you tap your right foot, you’d be rapping the mouthpiece against your teeth.

I played French horn, too, and have always tapped with my right foot.

There’s many layers to the question that haven’t been asked.
Do you tap with your dominant foot or non-dominant foot?
Heel up and down, or toe up and down?
Straight up and down, or do you add twists or sideways movement?
What tempo? How fast does the music have to be to start the tapping?
Do you tap only consciously, or does it start without any thought on your part?

I’m a singer in a choir, toe tapping is frowned upon as a distraction to other members, so I have to wiggle my toes inside my shoe. I change over often as otherwise I get a cramp.

I had to work really hard on swaying. There was one concert where I fastforwarded the video and it looked like I was going to get sea sick.
