For those who tap their toes to the music

Which toes do you tap when you listen to music? If you don’t tap your toes, please re-read the title of this thread.

Democrat-Right foot.

Other. I tap with the right because I played drums a billion years ago. Right foot, down beat/bass drum.

It depends on the political affiliation of the artists.

I said democrat-right foot, because when I tap I usually tap right and certainly lead with it. However if the beat is lively enough and I’m into it enough, I’ll start using my left foot for the off-beat (or for every other beat if it’s really fast) and thus in those situations use both.

Independent (leaning Democrat): Both feet, with left as lower register and right as higher.

And teeth are the percussion section.

I played French horn all through school. The bell of the horn rests on your right thigh. If you tap your right foot, you’d be rapping the mouthpiece against your teeth.

I’m a singer in a choir, toe tapping is frowned upon as a distraction to other members, so I have to wiggle my toes inside my shoe. I change over often as otherwise I get a cramp.

I thought this was going to be about which toes of my foot that I tap. I sometimes tap the whole foot, but I may also just tap my big toe.

But it’s nearly always my right foot. For one thing, I can only comfortably cross left over right (as I am doing right now). But it’s also my dominant foot. And, yes, I think the bass drum thing is part of it, even though I never really learned to play drums. It’s also the foot I use for the most common piano pedal.

The ones which are not on the pedals as I drive. And neither political affiliation applies.

That would be “Other-Both/either feet” then.

Democrat - both/either depending on where and when/what else I am doing.

I’ve been Ayn Randed,
Nearly branded
Communist, ‘cause I’m left-handed
That’s the hand I use… well never mind

I answered democrat, left foot (first one). I do wonder if there is more correlation with handedness than political orientation.

I actually usually tap my heal, rather than my toe, especially when I am composing.

Same here. I actually can’t remember from before I played (picked it up at age 9), to remember if I used to use my right.

As is, unless I am getting really into some music where I get both legs going, my right leg stays pretty much perfectly still, I suppose a habit left over from a decade of a french horn in my lap.

I usually tap with my right foot, but I sometimes do rolls with both.

Democrat, I do both feet. In the car, I tap the kick with the left foot. Outside the car, I’ll either follow the right foot with the the kick, or tap time with the left foot and follow the kick with the right.

Democrat both feet, but mostly I just do the hokey-pokey and I turn myself about…

I said both feet, but I never tap when I’m singing in choir, only when listening to upbeat music.

I tap my feet all day long even if there is no music. If there is music, they tap themselves to the beat. I’m not registered to any party.

Apparently Republicans for the most part don’t tap their feet to the music. This will be will be further explored in my upcoming “Humming According to Party Affiliation” poll.
