Forget Disgusting. What's the BEST candy?

Wint-O-Mint Life Savers.

Brach’s Chocolate Jots–a candy nobody knows, that I can’t find anywhere, anymore. Jots make M&M’s look like poor relations–better chocolate, crunchier candy coating. Yummmmmmmm. . .

Hersey’s Candy Coated Eggs (see a pattern here?) are also a contender–and I can get these, albeit only at Easter (so essvee, I sympathize).

The big Special Dark candy bars…with a quart of cold 2%…yumm.

One word:

POCKY.

You people are MAD I tell you! MAD! The finest candy ever created is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, original style, especially when very fresh and moist. All they serve in heaven, I’m quite certain.

Second would be the regional candy shop See’s, and the best thing they make is something they call a butterscotch square, but is simply a chunk of buttery soft brown sugar dipped in chocolate.

Third would be See’s peanut brittle, which is nothing like what you think of as peanut brittle.

I like candy that has a salty edge to it, like Reese’s. Too much sugar just becomes kinda sickening after awhile.

yum! ok i second a vote for milk candy, but make mine lychee flavor milk candy!

and pocky!

ya i’ll go with those two, they are ones that i will actually crave and want to go out and buy. other little circle candies like skittles, m&ms and reeses pieces are fun to eat but i only get them from vending machinese when i’ve been in offices or on school campus too long, which doesn’t happen often anymore (thankfully!). and for chocolate, i do remember being very fond of dove’s dark chocolate bars…

Hey, I’ve had those, I got a mixed bag of assorted milk flavored hard candies with liquid centers.
But Pocky, I’ve tried dozens of kinds, and they’re all crap. Yuck. Hate the stuff. There’s something about the cookie rod in the center that is just stale and awful. There are european brands of rod-like choco candies that are like pocky but taste a zillion times better.

Wonka Wicked Choc Mud Sludge…oh god, this is the best chocolate EVER. I usually melt it in my coffee in the mornings…mmm.

Yup, I agree about Bit O’ Honey, though it’s hard to find around here. I also like Godiva raspberry starfish and raspberry crowns. Yum, so good, so perfectly salty and sweet.

Pocky is weird. It’s like, “I know I’ve consumed chocolate, but I didn’t really notice it while I was eating.”

Isn’t it odd how Heath bars taste delicious in ice cream, but not on their own?

Cadburry Creme Eggs. Oh how I adore those things. Last easter Wal-mart had a sale of them after easter. Like 4 of them for a dollar. I was in heaven so after buying a few [sub]read 12 dollars worth[/sub] I was happy for about 3 weeks. Then they were gone from Wal-Mart and my house :frowning: Now I have to wait till Easter to get them again.

In fall, Reese’s peanut butter eggs.

In winter, Reese’s peanut butter christmas trees.

Forgive me. In my alternate reality, Easter comes in the fall.

Lindt Truffles
Goldenberg’s Nut Chews
Two completely different categories, equally yummeriffic to me!

Green and Black’s Organic Dark Chocolate

[sub]Their other varieties are all good too.[/sub]

Must confuse the kids when they come trick-or-treating. Dress up as a bunny. That’ll show 'em.

My vote is for After Eight mint chocolates.

I’m torn between Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (only when fresh; when stale, they’re horrible) and Hershey’s Kisses. There’s something about Hershey’s Kisses. I just gobble those things up like… well, like candy.

Has anyone else eaten the foil-covered chocolates called Ice Cubes? OH MY WORD, that is the BEST chocolate that I’ve ever eaten. Can’t find it all that often.

Aside from that, I like Hershey’s Kisses with Fritos. I’m a sick cookie, what can I say??

  1. Lindt Dark Chocolate Truffles… ::drool::

  2. Hard candies with the scotch/bourbon/amaretto inside. Like finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow…

  3. Jelly Belly assorted flavors, I can be hyperglycemic and creative (flavor mixing) at the same time!

  4. Hershey’s Almond Kisses. Allows for the perfect 1/1 relationship between chocolate and almond consumption.

Hershey’s Kisses are good, but IMO Wilbur Buds are better. They’re harder, and come in both milk and dark chocolate varieties. Unfortunately, they’re hard as hell to find.

In Korea, there’s a soft milk candy called “Bio” which is pretty darn tasty. Never cared much for Japanese candy, not that I ate much candy over there. (although there’s an awesome pastry called hatsuyashi I had in Kyoto from a stall on the hill going up to Kiyomizu-dera.)

But I would have to say that Heath Bars and Smarties are my two favorite candies.
