'Forgotten' songs from the 60's (i.e. 1964 to 1974ish)

I think Google found him! Adam Wade but both of his top ten hits were a few years too early for this thread.

Here, then:
The Poppy Family

and Terry Jacks

From The Strawbs’ debut album, one of the most beautiful gems of the era, “Pieces of 79 and 15” is not even on Youtube!
Here’s another forgotten beauty:

Bead Game - Sweet Medusa

If you want to remember records that are best forgotten, how about Mill Valley?

Okay, you asked for this:

Enjoy! :p

terentii and california jobcase, you guys are just looking for the worst cut on those PBS fund drive CDs and torturing everybody. I say if you can find it on a PBS fund drive CD, it isn’t forgotten.

I’ll see your “Mill Valley” and raise you “I Get All Excited!”:

I’m not sure “… and he’s coming again, he’s coming again!” was the best choice of lyrics. :dubious:

You wanna bet? :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone hear this song much anymore? (I Love the Flower Girl, the Cowsills.)

I *love *that song! A DJ who knew I did once dedicated it to me on-air. It’s a permanent fixture on my late-night YouTube surfs. :o

I just realized who Joyce reminds me of: Lurleen Lumpkin!

So which one were you trying to remember? :dubious:

After watching this video I, too, love the flower girl.

On a recent roadtrip, I heard two songs that I hadn’t heard for decades, both of which I unaccountably loved even though I was a Stones/Zeppelin kind of teen. How “forgotten” they are I don’t know.

They were:

Billy Paul: Me And Mrs Jones

and

Roger Miller: King Of THe Road

Huh! I never knew there was a “Philly soul scene.”

You learn something new every day! :o

This one’s from Motown:

"What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?"

For some reason, Roger Miller reminds me of Jimmy Dean:

"Big Bad John." Apparently a few years earlier than the specified period, but I always associate it with third grade ('63--'64).

“Life Is A Rock (But The Radio Rolled Me)” – Reunion

That, plus a bunch of other songs mentioned in this thread, get regular play on my current go-to station for Oldies. WVLI’s Web feed.

That part I’m still not sure about; probably the one that hit #7.

My favorite early Who song: Call Me Lightning.

Yeah, her voice crushes me…
