Fork 5 - Fork Hillary. Fork her and all her flying monkeys.

Some thoughts…

There was nothing close about the race. Due to the way Democrats apportion delegates, earning enough of them to win was almost impossible for Hillary.

This indescribably despicable and delusional shrew held her rally in a fucking cave — a dingy basement — where people couldn’t hear the news of her loss.

Obama cannot participate in any kind deal of offering her veep for her to turn down because that would make whoever he chose next his second choice.

It’s time for him to tell her to fuck off, and if she insists on it, take her fucking pouty idiot supporters (a description that includes no Dopers) with her. It’s time to show her to the door and kick her ass out. If he did that, I would not only vote for him, I would campaign for him. I’d sooner he’d pick Omarosa for veep than Hillary. What a fucking scuzzy cow.

Yes, I did in fact see those when it was, you know, plastered all over the Dope. Still doesn’t change what Desert Nomad said: that the temptation to have something happen to Obama would be too much for the Clintons.

It wouldn’t surprise me at this point if she shot him herself.

Which is why she can’t be VP… the Secret Service needs to keep her away from him. She is a lunatic at this point. She’ll be crashing his inauguration speech in January with silly claims that she should be the nominee.

No, that was an acceptance speech. In a concession speech, you actually have to conceed something. This speech was foremost about how many votes she got (more that her opponenet) and how unfair it all was that she had not been coronated. She even congratulated her opponent on the race he ran - that is classice acceptance speech stuff.

At this point, what Hillary does is really just about Hillary, and no longer about the rest of us.

If she can’t decide yet on what to do now, it doesn’t matter: she’s the decidee at this point, not the decider. She’s like the Black Knight from MP&HG going, “All right, we’ll call it a draw,” as King Arther leaves the scene.

For her own sake, it would be good if she demonstrated a closer grip on reality, but that’s her own lookout, and it’s Someone Else’s Problem now. We can move on to the main event.

I damn near sprayed my coffee when I ran into the following statement in a Washington Post story:

Great Ghu, what kind of hallucinogens are they putting in the Clinton Kool-Aid?

Absolutely. The Democratic Party has chosen its nominee and is moving on to the general election. Like I said above, there is no decision to be made. She lost. She can scream about the 2 delegates she lost in MI, but even that doesn’t matter. She lost. It’s over. Done. Goodbye, Hillary. Enjoy your remaining time in the Senate.

Maybe she’s going after some position other than VP, such as Secretary Of State? This would give her a solid position of power.

It’s interesting who so many people see Obama’s campaign as fair, honest, clever and organized and, conversely, so many people see it the opposite.

Are people who are in the ex-candidates school of thought really that misaligned?

She’s not going to run as an independant.

She’s not going to get the VP spot.

She’s going to finish her senate stint and… I don’t know.

No way she’ll run for President again - well I thought no way she’d say what she did last night…and there she was, feeding fodder to her basement brethren.

The problem for Obama is that Clinton made this a public event. Everyone with any sense realizes that she was making a threat. If he gives her the VP, it will be seen as a sign of weakness.

IMO she did a very stupid thing, IF she wants to be VP. I’m not a Obama cheerleader, but I got pissed at the disrepect she showed him and her supports are idiots…chanting Denver; do they not understand that going to Denver will make it very difficult for the Dems to win?

Did she calm them down? Did she explain to them that Denver would be a bad thing? No, she stood there bashing in the glow, with that stupid smile on her face…McCain’s speech was about America, Obama’s speech was about America…Hillary’s was about her.

Thank god, she lost.

As noted, the contrast between Obama and Hillary was staggering.

I just watched the speech and while I think she should have directly conceded, it seemed pretty neutral to me, not the wild-eyed desperation I expected by all the description here. The extremism and distortion on both sides of the camp seem to be getting pretty out of hand. I think she is aware that she lost. By ‘‘considering her options’’ I imagine she means whether or not to run for VP. She talked about the importance of unifying the party.

After checking out Hillary’s message board, I must say I’m more terrified of a certain extremist faction of Hlilary’s supporters than Hillary herself. The vast majority of the people who posted messages there seem completely beyond reason, as militant and irrational as the most dedicated fundamentalist. But I would be careful to confuse Hillary’s supporters with Hillary herself. I think her race has been particularly graceless with a few moments of cringe-inducing unprofessionalism, but she seems relatively calm and controlled in this speech.

And I believe she would be okay in a subordinate position to Obama. She really wants the Democratic nomination, but at some point she will accept that she doesn’t have it, and I think she will ultimately do whatever necessary to implement the ideas she believes in, even if it means taking orders. Besides, if she’s VP now, that gives her more ammunition to run for President again in the future.

If this is how she reacts when her campaign fails, how would she react when one of her favorite policies fails?

Thank Ghu she’s never going to be President – it would make us look back to the good old days when Bush and Cheney rationally evaluated each situation and quickly developed and implemented a Plan B when Plan A doesn’t work…

President Bush this morning congratulated Obama on winning the Democratic nomination. It’s a sad fucking day when the Clintons make Bush seem intelligent, reasonable, and connected to reality.

Incidentally, you don’t “run” for VP. You don’t even solicit it. You’re invited by the candidate, and if you accept you serve at his or her pleasure. The image of Hillary obeying Obama and toeing the lines he draws is too unbelievable. And the notion of Obama waking up to briefings of Bill’s rantings is just too much. She dug her own grave.

I think we already saw that in the first attempt at health care reform. Stubbornly refuse to compromise from the perfect divinely inspired version of the thing, whine, blame sexism, and ulitmately take her ball and run home crying having accomplished nothing.

Hmmm… you may have a point there.

That’s nobody’s fault but hers. She created that division and fueled it because it served her political purposes. Her initial campaign theme was the Commander in Chief who’s ready to lead on day one. Over time, that morphed into the Gal Next Door whom all the boys were picking on. And now, she fancies herself to be the Generalissimo of an army that will bend to her whim. The amazing thing is that some of them actually will. Fuck her. Fuck them. And let’s move on.

But we can’t move on until the press stops treating her as if she has some power. Even today, they’re still talking about what she wants, what Obama needs to do to make her happy…she lost; but they’re still treating her as if she’s in the race. Which is over.

I think the press has as much to blame for this as Clinton does. They constantly repeated her talking points, allowing her to keep feeding the fires and they’re still doing it.

I think Ed Rendell was still going on how she’s the stronger candidate and I just wish the interviewer would ask him, “if she’s so strong, why isn’t she the winner?”

But they don’t and allow her supporters to believe she’s gotten the shaft.

He should offer her the position and she will refuse. She leaves with rep and respect, not a beaten candidate who lost the big one. She wanted the big one.

I’m not seeing the debate, here. Everyone seems to be on the same side giving Senator Clinton the raspberry, so I’m going to move this to the Pit where you can express your anger more creatively.
