Former Phillies don't like each other

Just wanted to share this because I thought it was pretty funny. Someone thought it would be a good idea for Lenny Dykstra and Mitch Williams to participate in some kind of Philly sports roast. The two have had a long standing feud because Dykstra has always blamed Williams for the 93 World Series loss. Youtube link is spoilered due to NSFW language.

Williams is totally wasted. Did each of those guys get like $100 and all the cheap beer they could drink for this? Also I remember him more for sucking as a Cub (circa 1989) before the Phillies.

Dykstra, as a Met, gets a pass from me for hitting that walk off home run in game 3 of the 1986 playoffs, with Mike [del]Scuff[/del] Scott looming for game 4.

I’m a Phillies fan but can assure you Mitch Williams and Lenny Dykstra are the Dumb and Dumber of baseball.

That was freakin’ hilarious. Those two embody the epitome of Phillies wasted potential.

Okay, it seems Williams accused Dykstra of stealing from his (Dykstra’s) kids. What’s the story behind that?

I assume it has something to do with his financial problems and crimes that eventually led to a conviction. Part of that case was the unauthorized use of funds and he probably took money that had been placed in his children’s name. Could be something else though, he has a quite a rap sheet.

Okay, thanks. I’ll google that.

I most remember Mitch Williams before his NL days pitching for the Rangers against the Red Sox. He brushed back Wade Boggs (later explaining that he wanted Boggs to know who he is) ran his mouth to Marty Barrett, and got dropped by Dwight Evans.
