Forrest Fenn Treasure - Part deux - Netflix version

There’s a new ‘documentary’ on Netflix, Gold and Greed:The Hunt For Fenn’s Treasure.

For reference, we’ve done this before. See this and this.

Anyhoo, I’ve always been skeptical of the way that it was found, along with the timing. And the show did not convince me otherwise. Cutting to the chase, the guy who was driving the show, claims to have found the spot where it was buried. It’s just not credible to me. It’s it the middle of a forest, with no exploratory holes nearby. I could go on…

That aside, it’s a very interesting show. If this kind of thing interests you in the least, I highly recommend it. That treasure has quite the cult following along with some very colorful characters.

I thought this doc was fascinating. I felt a lot of sympathy for some of the hunters and more than a little anger toward Fenn. I think Netflix was really irresponsible letting that guy promote his new treasure hunt on the show. Was he one of the producers?

That was my take away as well. I had a lot of empathy.
