UTILITY WORKER KILLED WHILE LAYING PIPE
A worker for the West Wilson Utility District was killed in an accident while laying pipe on South Mt. Juliet Road yesterday, authorities said.

Charles Walker, 48, of Wilson County had been with the company since July 2003, said Tom Lawrence of Dye, Van Mol & Lawrence public relations agency, which represents the utility district.

‘‘There’s something that went wrong, and we don’t know what at this point, when the equipment struck the worker. He was fatally wounded,’’ Mt. Juliet Police Chief Kenneth Martin said.
