My husband is part of the procession.
The procession is over ten miles long. There are 1000 vehicles in the procession as well as mounted and foot mourners. Over 20,000 individuals, from all over the country.
I hope some of you that showed so much apathy to downright disrespect have second thoughts.
Correction: There are thousands of vehicles. The procession starts on a runway at McCord AFB and ends, 10 miles away, at the Tacoma Dome. It started moving at 10 AM. Only about 1/2 of the vehicles have started to move now, at 12:30 PM. The hearses arrived at the Dome about 30 minutes ago.
The outside temp today is very cold for Western Washington, about 18°F. There are officers along the route who have stood at attention for that whole time.
I understand that many, maybe most people on the board don’t really care about this, and maybe it doesn’t belong in this thread, but, I just wanted to express my sorrow.
And there are many who do.
Huckabee’s talking to Jon Stewart. He’s doing okay, under the circumstances. Stewart’s being relatively soft on the topic, but I’m willing to bet his questions are more intelligent than any other interviews Huckabee’s done in the last week.
