Fourth Annual (I Think) Canadian-American Candy Exchange! (2007)

Last weekend, y’all!

If you don’t have too many Americans, then I’m in too. If anyone has a special request, let me know. The only local things I can think of are cranberry related, or Hebert’s chocolate - but you might know of something I’m forgetting.

My only special request would be a mint Aero bar.

Ok, I am in. American.

To whomever I get: I cannot send the package until April as I am traveling out West. On the other hand, I will be on the lookout for odd regional stuff.

I’m in, I think. Depends on how much time we have to buy and ship the package, as it takes me ages to ship stuff when it needs weighing. From Canada, by the way.

Sending my email address out right away.

Anything new?

Sorry guys, I’ve gotten a bit tangled up in schoolwork, but you will be receiving your partner information this weekend. Thanks for your patience & enthusiasm!

Partner assignments have gone out via email!

Unfortunately for the following posters:
Synthetically Organic
Fetus
Crankasanoldman
Vetbridge
Congodwarf
CityBadger

There were not enough Canadians to go 'round and you have not received a partner. Sorry!

The following American posters were skipped because I could not locate an email in their public profile. Sorry!
Furlibusea
MsRobyn

Canadian poster Lenny Butters also did not have an email address in his public profile and did not receive a partner. Seeing as we’re short of Canadians at the moment, if he emails me, I’ll assign a partner.

Thanks to all who participated. See ya next year!

Oh pook. Sorry the Canucks are letting their side down - maybe you should edit title of the post to say so?

Anyway, I know it’s beyond the date, but I’ll join if I may. You’re supposed to be able to email me via my profile. I can’t bear to think of some poor innocent USers doing without some yummilicious Canajun treats.

That’s very kind of you! Thanks to you, Synthetically Organic has a partner! Check your email for further info.

Gadzooks! Don’t assign someone to me, cause they ain’t gettin’ no candy. I just posted to say I thought the idea was cool, but I can’t afford it, so I’ll see if I can do it next year.

Oh, I didn’t peek in here at all, and didn’t know there was a crisis going on.

If it’s not too late, I’m willing to parcel out a bit of Canuck confection.

Well I have never done such a thing before, but I am Canadian, and I can participate if more Canadians are still needed (as per thispost).

Thank you to Larry mudd and Queuing! I’ll send out your assignments by friday at the latest.

Check your SDMB e-mail address.

Robin

So did all of you yanks get taken care of?

My sister is heading down from Yellowknife to visit and will be here April 14 or so. I would be willing to get that Canadian candy out to someone, but I sure don’t need anything in exchange.

Only two Americans remain unpartnered (Congodwarf and CityBadger). Sorry guys. Thanks for all the Canadians that stepped in!

Queuing, in case you haven’t checked your mail recently, you got a partner yesterday.

Have fun everyone!

So I am a total n00b at this sort of thing, didn’t really give my offer to much thought at the time (I just saw a call for Canadians and thought “Hey I am Canadian”), but umm yeah, I have no idea what to give. Or what to ask for really.

So hows about some help? Let the suggestions fly, please!

Just ask your partner! They may have preferences they would like to share. Also, my OP contains some general suggestions.

Don’t worry about it too much, though. Its a box o’ candy you get in the mail… not rocket science.

If you’re wondering what candy is only available in Canada, I found this website: http://www.canadaonly.ca/

They have lists of various food items that are only available in Canada, listed by food type (e.g. candy, snacks, chocolate).
