I’ve been looking at the e-mails people have sent for the International candy exchange, and it looks like we’ve got a surplus of Americans. I’m happy to see so many people wanting to participate, but we have a severe shortage of people outside the US. I’m hoping for some more people who want to participate from outside the States. Send me an e-mail (in profile) to let me know. Thanks!
Bump.
If we agree that this little experiment isn’t going to cost too much, i’d be happy to swap with two non-Americans, each from a different country.
I luuuuuurrrrve candy.
I’m in. Email on way.
It’s the other way round, dear.
There aren’t enough non-americans.
I think setting a spending limit, say $10.00, is a good idea, so no one feels like they have to go crazy. Hopefully, we’ll get a few more non-Americans, otherwise, I guess I’ll just have to match up the people from the US who replied first (first come, first serve and all)
As far as matching people up, I think I will send people an e-mail with the e-mail address of their partner, so the partners can exchange addresses and candy preferences. Does that sound okay?
And i am officially an idiot.
Excuse me while i sit in this corner over here.
The most significant cost, i think, is going to be in the sending anyway. My mother recently sent me a package of candy and chocolate from Australia, and it cost twice as much to send as it did to buy.
With Global Priority Flate Rate, shipping internationally is easy! $9 regardless of weight or destination! It’s an 8X12 envelope that I can say, from experience, can easily be stuffed full of $10 worth of candy.
But I think setting a limit of $10 local is a good idea. You don’t want people to receive packages that are wildly different in quantity, and then feel bad.
