Fox 25th Anniversary Special

Already promising at the start. Fox Fanfare then, TV-14. Yes!

I miss The X-Files, (when it was good).

I taped it, watched some parts and fast-forwarded through others. Mildly interesting at times.

Were there any references to Model By Day?

What got me was, at the beginning, Seacreast said they were going to talk about some of the failures as well as the hits and they never seemed to talk about the failures at all.

I enjoyed watching it, but I was disappointed there was no mention of Herman’s Head. I loved that show.

There was that long scene from the return of Family Guy where Peter talked about all the shows that would have to fail for them to get back on the air.

Didn’t see it.

Any mention of Keen Eddie?

My only complaint was that they showed a clip from Dark Angel and then they showed a clip from another sci-fi show (can’t remember it’s name) and then they showed a clip from Firefly. I wished they showed the clip from Dark Angel and then showed the clip from Firefly as a subtle nod to Dark Angel being cancelled and in it’s place Firefly being put on the air only to be subsequently cancelled.

Two hours just wasn’t long enough to cover 25 years.

The three biggest snubs seem to be America’s Most Wanted, Alien Nation, and Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? (in fact, all of Fox’s game shows, although I can probably see why they would want to leave out any mentions of The Chamber or The Moment of Truth).

As for “not talking about the failures,” I wouldn’t call Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction a success.

And just when we had all gotten “Dancing Baby” out of our minds…

I didn’t watch the special but I enjoyed seeing the pilots for Married With Children and The Simpsons before hand. Surprised how well MWC holds up.

There was a whole segment about sci fi shows. Considering only X-Files, and to a lesser extent Fringe, have ever really lasted more than a season or two, those pretty much count as failures.
