Foxfire tool bar.

OK, after a disaster following updating some stuff under Debian, I am now running Kubuntu and Firefox. How do I get my bookmarks toolbar back? It came filled with a bunch of trash I have no interest in. I deleted it. Now how do I get good stuff like SD in it? I have gone through all the preferences and menus and found nothing. I hadn’t updated to Xmarks, but do have many older bookmarks I saved before installing Kubuntu.

I am hoping people are friendlier here than the Linux forums where most questions are answered with ‘‘Read the man pages’’ or short answers lacking many of the details people need.

Haven’t been around for 2 weeks due to computer problems. I bet all of you survived it.

On the menus: View —> Toolbars —> Bookmarks toolbar

This may bring back the individual bookmarks you do not want. Delete them individually.

Of course, whether this works may depend on waht you did originally to delete the toolbar.

go onto the icon in the tab of the page you want to add and drag it up to the bookmark toolbar.

Bless X-marks. I found a less ancient set of bookmarks in my account and synced. It gave me my toolbar folder that I wanted. It still needs some updating, but that will be easier for that tip of dragging an icon to the toolbar. I have done so with the SD main page. Thanks for all the replies. I hope I continue to get the same friendly, helpful ones.

Anyone ever wonder why saying “Foxfire” is so popular? I’ve known several people who do it. Generally it just means they don’t use their computer often. But why that particular one?

Just idle wondering.
