Medicaid doesn’t cover orthodontics in patients over 21. Does anyone know of any free or cheap orthodontic insurance plans?
The People’s Dental Plan does cover braces, but even with the discounts, you still end up paying hundreds of dollars for the services.
No one here has any input. Access Netwirks is offering health insuarnce for $1, but there’s something wrong with a link on their website.
Does anyone here have any input about emergency care?
Dental care for those who cannot afford regular medical care is woefully underfunded.
Many of the lower-cost, subsidized (and emergency) dental clinics in my area are part of the two dental schools in this state. If you have a university in your state with a dental school, it’s worth checking to see if they have clinics in your area.
You’re not likely to find orthodontic insurance, which should come as no surprise when you stop and think about it.
Insurance only works if the majority of the people buying the insurance never need the services. If everyone totaled his car every year, the annual premium for auto insurance would be equal to the replacement cost for the car.
With orthodontics, people with straight teeth wouldn’t buy the insurance. The only people who would buy the insurance are people who will, in fact, use the services. So, you’d have to pay $2000 in premiums to get $2000 worth of orthodontia.
