It uses the origin launcher even on steam. And I think the multiplayer is dead. I am pretty sure Titanfall 1’s multiplayer has been down (killed by DDoS attacks and hackers and then EA/Respawn just shutting it down) and I think Titanfall 2’s multiplayer also is suffering the same fate, but there is a mod (Northstar) that provides a workaround.
Still the game is amazing and fun, and pretty short. Well worth the price.
I think titaanfall was a good game for what was supposed to be a Mechwarrior lite game it was just the titans underwhelmed everyone … I mean you could jump on the back and remove their battery and blow them up?
Titanfall was mostly meant to be multiplayer. It fell down hard as a single player game.
Titanfall 2 did much better in single-player (although I think it was too short…about six hours). Most of the “value” was still in multiplayer. But, for $5, I think it is worthwhile for the single-player campaign. Less than $1/hour for entertainment is not bad value. If you can get some multiplayer fun out of it then all the better (although it seems that multiplayer is not really worthwhile anymore).
I bought both Titanfall 1 and 2, and left them to play later. I came in without any info. Then I find 1 was a multiplayer only game, and 2 had a small single player campaign. I left the multiplayer game for a while, then found they’d turned off 1’s servers.
This made sure I will know whatever game Respawn make again, and take note to never buy it. This will be the only company I’ll ever do that with. Make these multiplayer only, it’s not that the servers are off, it’s that the servers will have been empty five years before they switch them off. In computer games, this is the absolute definition of stupidity. And I don’t want to play a multiplayer game. At all. It’s a toxic gaming experience.
I played it and I never play multiplayer, not since Doom deathmatch and early Counterstrike days.
Yes, it’s quite fun and $5 is a great price for about the length of its single-player game. It’s really short, but quite fun and varied. I’ve heard it hailed as an amazing single-player experience and I don’t share quite that level of enthusiasm, but it was fun.
I got Shadow of the Tombraider back last Christmas from them, but I don’t think it was the definitive edition which sounds like extra crap. Might have grabbed it just for that, but I’ve played it already, so not likely to go back, I don’t think it has any real dlc.
Yeah, I bought Hitman 3 from them when it was an Epic exclusive title and a few months later the game just stopped working. No amount of updating drivers, verifying files, or messing with my system made it work. Got zero support from Epic. None. Publisher was useless because complaining to them only led to them directing me to take it up with Epic. Ill will, damn right it was generated! Fuck Epic. I’ll never get another game from them ever again, even for free.
I think I bought it for something like $2 on Xbox during a sale years ago. Yes, it was fun but short. I liked how they gave you a lot to do outside of the mech.
I would love if they did a Titanfall 3 with a full, long campaign for single player. I don’t like these kinds of games in competitive multiplayer (or most any game for that matter). Game designers can make better content than fighting against toxic random internet people.
I’d never heard of it before but the article I just linked says it’s “a surprisingly fun FPS about a yahoo on vacation in Egypt”. I grabbed it because why not.
It’s actually a really good game. Controls are perfect, it’s a really good old school shooter.
If you have amazon prime you can get their new batch of games including Assassin’s Creed Origins, Shadow of Mordor, Football Manager 2022, The Dig, We the Revolution, a few others. Ignore the stupid F2P game packs stuff on the top, go down to “games we love, free with prime”
Platform Builder is a free-to-play game designer that is going to be $15 starting Friday the 16th. So you can add it now before it has a price tag attached to it if you want to design some platform arcade games
I’m really enjoying AssCreed Origins. The games depiction of ancient Egypt is very rich and interesting, whether it be traveling through the desert on a camel, parkouring through twisty city streets, or exploring dusty tombs. Seeing the landmarks from a distance and then up close is very impressive.
