you know sometimes I think the card thing is “I want long technical battles but I don’t have the skills/time or knowledge” to program them or they just don’t want to …
Dodo Peak reminds me of Q*bert.
(Damn, I’m old.)
Me too. I remember playing it at my local arcade.
Yeah me too… as a gamer through the late 80s and 90s, platformers were big, and I’m familiar with many isometric games (d-generation, the immortal, etc), but i can’t think of an isometric platformer combination in this fashion.
Black Book is free on the Epic Games Store. (Normally $25.)
I downloaded it today and it’s delightful.
I’m really not sure why it’s being compared to Disco Elysium or Skyrim, but at any rate, I can’t stop playing it. Deck building combat RPG based on Slavic folklore, it’s a history/culture lesson as you play and interact with villagers. The only caveat I’ll give is you have to be comfortable “sinning” because well you’re basically ordering demons around to keep them from pestering you. I’m normally averse to being bad, but I’m having too much fun to care.
RTS isn’t usually my preference, but if the gameplay is anywhere close to the trailers I might have do put a few dozen hours into it.
I was always a big fan of the original Homeworld and like the trailers I saw for Deserts of Kharak. Looks like I can’t afford not to give it a try.
Personally I found Deserts of Kharak to not be much fun. I love the Homeworld series but Kharak just didn’t work for me. YMMV of course. For free, definitely worth a try at least.
Epic’s freebie this week is Cave Story+
Today on GOG (for another 30 hours so…until roughly through Sep 6):
Just wanted to do a “thank you” to @superwombat and @engineer_comp_geek for the updates. Between steam, gog and epic, it’s a pain to remember to check frequently, and while I fully acknowledge I probably won’t play 80% of the games I pick up free, it’s nice to grab ones that look promising for the next time I am unexpectedly stuck at home and want something new.
Thanks to all who do the work so the rest of us can just throw a click or two at it!
I’ve got that 911 game. It’s pretty fun. Kind of a puzzle solver mixed with, “hey, that’s my street!”
