Lately, I’ve been looking for online versions of some of my favorite childhood games. I’ve been able to find Mille Bornes (http://www.games.com), Canasta (http://games.yahoo.com), and I found a downloadable version of Risk (link forgotten).
Now I’m looking for Stratego, the game I believe was by Milton Bradley. Is there a free online version, or a downloadable version? I’ve searched the web and haven’t come up with anything except some odd variant at http://www.itsyourturn.com/ which isn’t what I’m looking for.
Can anyone help me?
http://www.metaforge.net/ seems to have what you need. Which, of course, means I’ll have to play this incessantly.
Hmmm… doesn’t seem to be free other than a trial, though.
Well, I was able to play. Not sure if you are made to register or if that’s just encouraged. Thanks for the “find”…
Here ya’ go:
Stratego in Java. Free software, although a donation would be appreciated by the author.
You must have two players, and you have to do it over a network - online or LAN.
Here’s another link. Haven’t played the latest incarnation, but when it was Four Feathers, it was loads of fun.
I found this on the Underdogs site. Is it the game you are looking for?
Are you mac or PC? I have a swell freeware mac Stratego game - my brother and I play one game a year, at Christmas, just like we did when we were kids (on the gameboard).
I still keep several of my 8s around the flag, and leave #2 there to kill the curious.
I love Stratego.
Yes, although this appears to be a DOS version… I’m looking for a Win version, if possible, perhaps even online.
