Freedom Force(comic book videogame) questions

Is freedom force worth buying?
What kind of comp specs would I need for it?
Does it have online play?
How much does it cost, canadian?

Thanks!

It’s worth buying.

Really, that’s just lazy. It’s one of the first sites that comes up in a google search.

Worth buying? Depends on your taste in comic books.

If your taste runs towards modern comics, or the early nineties Image style, I would say you would not like this game; you’d consider it kind of corny.

If your taste in comics runs towards Silver Age stuff, particularly early sixties Marvel stuff with a heavy Jack Kirby influence… I’d say you’d like it a lot. I do, and did.

I borrowed this from a friend. The cutscenes are hilarious. Kind of cheesy (The ‘batman-esque’ music absolutely kills me  ) but a definitely good investment.

The only thing that bugged me about it was the AI (or lack therof). I had a hard time on missions with multiple people, because while I was controlling one guy, some other guy was getting the snot kicked out of him. Kind of frustrating, but the sheer versatility of the game (being able to pick up/shatter just about anything, for example) and comic-book feel made it enjoyable

It is a rather old game, and may be selling at a cheaper price. At least here they are going for 19.95 Singapore dollars (the exchange rate between Singapore and US dollars is roughly x2).

I picked it up a few weeks ago for $10.00 American, so you can get it in the bargain bin. It is well worth the original asking price though. The campaign that came with it was fun, and has a lot of potential for replaying, but it really gets good with all the mods that are available. Freedom Reborn is a message board devoted to the original game and the new mods and skins people create, and Freedom Portal has links to just about every place on the web that has downloads for the game.

The original campaign is very Kirbyesque, but the mods available range from 2 modern day DC Universe campaigns, to an X-Com campaign, to completely original content.

Poetgrl, the secret to multi-character combat is use the spacebar. A lot. Pause everyone, give some orders, see what happens, pause again, give more orders, etc.

Kurdt Kobain, the minimum requirements are a 300mhz PII or AMD K6-2 processor, 96 MB RAM, 31 MB free HD space, 16 MB video card. It has multiplayer for 2-4 over the web or a lan, but I believe that is a free for all mode, not in campaign mode.
