Is it possible to equip weapons that you salvage (using the tractor beam)? Or is your only option to sell them? So lets say I blast some guy and pick up his drail. To use it, do I have to sell it (for say $500) and then buy it back (for say $1,800)?
Any other advice/strategy you care to give me? I just got this game and I’m desperately trying to get into it.
The Freelancer strategy guide in the June 2003 issue of PC Gamer mentions equipping looted weapons several times, so I assume it’s possible. I don’t have the game, so I can’t tell you more. You might want to pick up that magazine - there’s a 3 or 4 page Freelancer strategy guide that looks pretty good.

I finished the game twice and have bought all the ships and visited all the bases. Even been a pirate for a while. Arrrrrr!
When you’re in the equipment shop, look at the weapons you already own. There’s a little light blue box in the upper left corner of the picture. Clicking on it installs and un-installs your weaponry.
