I have an IBM Netvista which freezes up at the click of a mouse.
Before I ‘deep-six’ the darned thing, are there any computer mavens out there who might enumerate for me the various probable causes for freeze,or lockup?
For three years it has been a pleasure—but now it’s hardly a treasure.
Help me,please,-----------before I bury it out in the rear of the lot and mark the map with an ‘X’ for future treasure hunters…
More information please. Does it come back, or is the freeze until you triple bunky it? Have you run a spybot check recently? Have you added any new software recently?
My clunky old Win98 machine seems to pause frequently in Firefox. My spanking new Toshiba laptop never does. How fast is your machine? I have a feeling that dealing with my wireless network is getting to be too much for a slowpoke.
Last week I ran a complete recovery-----the thing should be as clean as a newborn’s bottom.
Didn’t even install any of usual stuff—just set up for the internet-------changed phone line sequence----tried it with Aol 4-6-7-8 and 9--------same results on all to varying degrees-except 9.0 which was an amtrack at full speed heading for a washout on the main line.
It’s a pentium three,256 etc.
The back window is looking pretty attractive---------froze up once getting on this time.
