I have to urinate often 3-4 times a night and the amount of urin seems to be much more than what i drink, i am 180cm tall and weight 61kg, i am living in the Tropics with Nighttime Humidity at around 80% and between 24-29 Centigrade, i noticed that by lower temperatures i usually urinate more, i read somewhere that this could be Heartproblem related but i had no indications at the last check-up. What else could be the reason?
Please refer to the rules:
Emphasis my own.
If you want to know what the problem is, visit a physician. Strangers on the Internet are not going to be able to do much more than suggest a lot of potentially nasty possibilities that will probably just worry you more than is necessary.
ETA I don’t mean to sound terse or uncaring. But it really is in your best interest to seek competent medical advice from a licensed professional. From personal experience I can tell you that trying to self-diagnose using the Internet can only cause unnecessary stress. Doctors are nice people.
Seconded. Except that part about doctors being nice. The stick people with needles and poke and prod them…ewww. But yeah, time for you to get some pokes and prods.

I had a similar problem recently and saw the doc. I found I have BPH- google it. It may or may not be what you have. Mine’s not bad enough to warrant surgery, but the pharma route produced no results. It’s just something I live with at this point.
Go to the doctor.
Thirded. Go see a doctor.
Diabetes, maybe.
Sounds like cooties to me. :dubious:
You’ve not been near any females recently have you? Cos that would deffo explain the symptoms.
(IANA Doctor, but I know cooties when I see 'em).
I’m all in favor of people being in charge of their own medical health, and I think that doing your own research is a good thing. I think that doctors should be only one of your resources. I emphatically despise the “no medical advice” rule and skirt it at every opportunity. I think if there’s one thing on God’s green earth we really need to fight ignorance about, it’s our bodies and how they work.
That being said, I agree that you should see a doctor. This could be any one of so many different things, and there’s no way for us or you to know without some tests, probably of the hormonal variety, but probably some physical as well (certainly if you’re a man over 40, the prostate is a good thing to rule out.)
Could be insomnia, could be BPH, could be a misinterpretation of the data, could be prostate cancer, could be a hypoproduction of antidiuretic hormone, could be a resistance to antidiuretic hormone, could be diabetes…stop me when you’re bored…could be a cyst in the bladder, could be hyperhydration, could be cardiac insufficiency, could be a kidney infection…
Go see your doctor. If you get a diagnosis and want more information about it or anecdotes from people who have had the same diagnosis, I’m sure you’ll find us more helpful. But we need to know what it is first.
I agree and disagree. If it is something that’s not medically dangerous, like a canker sore or stinky feet or not sleeping well, or should we take fish oil capsules; then sure, this board is good. And, if phrased as a real QG “What sorts of medical problems would make a man urinate often at night?”, then that’s fine, IMHO.
But the OP’s question is too specific and too likely to be something serious. Simple Mind: see your doc. Oh, and age would be a very critical thing to know here.
When did this start? Have you significantly altered your diet in any way? Is there discomfort when you urinate? How often do you urinate during the day?
Are you getting older? Rhetorical question, I know. But frequent night time urination comes with the getting older territory.
When you go to the doctor, please give more information than you gave us. Like your age and gender. Those are very relevant.
I can say with great certainty that the OP is indeed getting older. Unless s/he’s dead.
Unless he’s Benjamin Button. Although I’m not entirely sure how his genetics operate.
Ok, sorry, i did not check with the Rules bevor asking the question.
For the ones who want to know more, i am Male and 49 years old, i have a very long medical history involving Heart Surgery and many more but i share the same view as “Why Not” and living in the Philippines in what they call here the “Province” with three Hospitals in the City you would have a hard time to imagine and Doctors who want to be payed cash so they can go and play Golf in the afternoon, you would find self diagnosies a good alternative.
I also don’t consider this a serious problem and was just wondering if other Guy’s my age have similar conditions. I also tried to edit my post yesterday but due to my Internet connection via Cellfon i could not reload the Page, not everybody has Broadband! Regards
