Heh, my dad is a physician and he always neutered our male kitties. Being the oldest child, I had to take my sisters for a walk up and down the street until the porch light came on–my sign that the kitty bits had been removed and it was safe to bring my sisters back to the house.

That’s a pleasant surprise when you go to the vet though, because neuter is cheaper than spay.

Normally you are correct. The only problem was she went through a low cost spay/neuter program which requires you to purchase the certificate before you go to the vet. So she paid for a female spay at a higher price than a male neuter.
