Fresh (small) artichokes- what do I do with these?

I am a member of a local program that provides me with a box of random, locally grown, organic veggies each week. I have no choice what’s in the box, so I get to try all kinds of new things.

Now, artichokes aren’t new to me- they are, in fact, quite delicious. While I love them, I’ve never made them and here I find myself with 7 artichokes.

Here’s the catch: these are much smaller than the artichokes I see in the grocery store. The smaller ones are the size of large eggs, the larger ones are the size of maybe a tangerine.

So, Dopers, tell me what to do with these. I want to make them somehow tomorrow but I don’t know what to do!

<gasp!> Oh, sauteed baby artichokes, nom nom nom nom nom. Where are you located, Diosa? I’m free for dinner…

Oh, snap! I just thought these were small artichokes, I didn’t realize they had a name (baby artichokes). Most excellent indeed! Ok well I am now open to everyone’s baby artichoke recipes :D.

And I live in Bakersfield, CA. Trust me, even delicious artichokes aren’t worth coming to Bakersfield.
