Fringe renewed! [edited title]

I love “Fringe” but mostly for Walter, and to a much less degree, Lincoln. I like Fauxlivia better than real Olivia, & liked the show better when Olivia had a sister & Olivia & Peter were just friends. I’ll be sad when it’s cancelled.

Walter is the best character, but I like REAL Walter, not shut in living at the lab Walter.

A couple web sites have updated their prediction about Fringe.

Likely to be renewed!!

There is still hope. Budget cuts and Terra Nova’s cancellation probably help. I assume they want to get Fringe to 100 episodes for syndication, too.

Just let them have one season to end their show properly.

Here is one link, where it has gone from “long shot” to “could go either way” to “a safe bet”.

Yes, and the need to not be wishy-washy about it. Come right out from the start and say “This is the last season.”

Even though I’m generally at home when the show comes on, I like to go ahead and set my DVR to record it, just to be on the safe side; you never know if plans are going to change. On those occasions where I do decide that I want to watch it live, I click though the menus to cancel the recording. I just can’t help but wince a little bit when the dialog box asks me if I would like to cancel Fringe.

Exactly. I really think Fringe deserves the respect of having a final season where they know it is the final year. It’s been a very good show, especially for being on a major network.

I was Googling a couple of weeks ago about this and one possibility is that Fringe will get a half season for season 5. If that happens the producers are confident they can wrap up the series. Of course if they don’t get renewed they’re confident that the season ending can also serve well as a series ending.

Didn’t like Terra Nova - love Fringe. I hated when Fox gave it the “Friday death Slot.” That usually means the network has no faith in a show.

Perhaps with some other cancellations they could move Fringe to another day/slot in an effort to improve ratings?

I think part of the problem is the producers of the show. They get wrapped up in what is interesting to them, and it’s not necessarily what will be interesting to the audience.

Where did you read this?

I read that somewhere too, where they indicated it might get the same go at closure as Chuck did. But I think they were just unofficially spitballing.

Although they’ll have 88 episodes at the end of the season, enough for syndication, the producers are hoping for 100 episodes.

I felt at home that it would get as much of a run as it would need when I found out Anna Torv was Rupert Murdochs niece.

When uncle owns the network. Well. Nuff said.

 I don’t think she has any power, but she doesn’t want to go on past season 5.

Fringe renewed!

13 episodes for its fifth and final season! Yay!!

A couple days ago I noticed that the last two episodes had their name changed. They were called “Endgame part 1” and “Endgame part 2” but now they’re “Brave New World part 1” and “Brave New World part 2”.

So, 13 episodes to wrap up loose ends. I’ve loved the show so far; I hope Season 5 doesn’t disappoint.

:happy dance:

Apparently they filmed two alternate finales, depending on whether they get cancelled or not. I hope the alternate is a DVD extra.

I’m sure it will be. It’ll be cool to see the differences.
