From Baton Rouge - Katrina

This morning is the first chance I’ve gotten to catch up on the boards. We live in Baton Rouge and since Katrina hit, our family has been down at the Rivercenter/Red Cross Shelter doing what we could to help out. Everything from making 100’s of peanut butter sandwiches, ferrying folks to the airport, holding hands with those whose tears speak far more than words can, scrubbing toilets, handing out personal care kits, and much much more.

The tragedy, plight and heartbreak of the folks from New Orleans and the surrounding areas of the shelter victims is beyond my capability of description. Poor folks, most of who evacuated before the storm but now have little or nothing to go back to, and for those who do, it will be awhile before they can get there.

My post is just to say thank you. To those who’ve opened their wallets…to those who’ve opened their homes … to those who’ve done whatever they can do to help my friends, family, neighbors and residents of this state. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Right back atcha’!

You’ve been on our minds and in our hearts.

Help is coming.

Thank you!!!

Moving thread from IMHO to MPSIMS.
And by the way-thank you very much for all you are doing.
