From e3 with love (E3 conference stuff!)

I’m watching the conferences as right now. Started with the Ubi, will finish the MS next and I think Sony is later tonight, right?

My impressions so far:

From Ubi -

The crew - looks like a fun open world racing game!

GTA what? It’s all about dem watchdogs! Still looking amazing.

I think I’m done with Assgrabber’s creed, and no CGI is going to change my mind. My interest just totally fizzled on that franchise.

The division - looks like MMO’s and open world games are going to rule next gen. This actually looks pretty amazing.

EA:

Plants vs zombies is looking mighty cool. I spent hours and hours on the original, and obviously this look a lot more involved.

Titan Fall - meh. I guess it looks ok. But nothing super interesting to me.

Oh yeah F-you EA sports. Sticking it to us PC gamers yet again, I see.

Star Wars battlefront. I never liked how this game was executed in the past. The premise sounds awesome, but it played like a cheap counter strike mod. Let’s hope they tighten up the action and controls a bit.

Need for speed blah blah blah, It’s Jesse!!! Not interested in the game, and absolutely not interested in the movie.

Dragon age: Inquisition. Oh god, please, please let these bastards realize the error of their ways. Draogn age: Origins was a masterpiece. Dragon Age 2 was a let down in almost every way. I seriously hope they sacked the “button-awesome” guy. And, oh hey, it’s Morrigan!!! And it sounds like Claudia Black is voicing her again! YAY!

Mirror’s Edge: Woot! Definitely looking forward to this one. Wish they had show actual gameplay though :frowning: Pretty short on that actually all around.

…And then I watch the Witcher trailer. A Pc dev is of course, going to buck the trend and actually put a trailer with at least some actual gameplay.

Sweet! Wither 3 is going to be 2014’s Elder Scrolls game for me.

Just finished the MS conference.

What happened to Dead Rising? That don’t look like no Dead Rising. And calling in an airstrike with your phone? Really?

Hard to believe they are snubbing the red hot PC gaming market. With so many PC gamers out there, and numbers growing every day, they are just walking away from free money! They could develop better games cheaper, sell them cheaper, and sell more of them because the PC gaming market is so awesome!

What is wrong with these guys!!

DA2 broke my confidence in the series. I’m optimistic about DA3 but won’t be pre-ordering it or anything. I’ll be really shocked if they can get the magic back.

Now that that’s out of the way…

Anyway, I agree The Division looks AWESOME. The graphics are amazingly detailed and the audio sounds true to life too. I like how each bullet leaves a discrete hole in the windows and chips away random chunks of concrete from the barriers.

Killer Instinct doesn’t look great. Ugh. I loved that game too.

Haven’t had a chance to see many other videos yet.

The Sony conference is starting now.

Watching these console conferences… all these people feel so smarmy. I feel like I’m listening to a bunch of car salesman. Yuck.

Just show us the games, stop with the overtly fawning sales pitch.

Here comes the Sony conference (live on twitch.tv here). Let’s see if they can best Microsoft’s weak showing and disappointing news. I think this is the first time everyone gets to see the PS4 hardware too, but I don’t know much about that.

This is the actual, real life difference between what I do, and what you do:

Some console gamer: Yeah, but PC is irrelevant. No one buys PC games. Besides, you need to spend like $3,000 to even match what a console can do.

I’m guessing $599. But they might go $549.
