"From the people that brought you..." game

It’s a common tagline in movie promotions. They’ll say the current movie they’re promoting is “from the people that brought you…” and then list some popular or prestigious past movie that somebody in the current movie worked on.

21 & Over: From the writers of The Hangover
Oblivion: From the director of Tron: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes
After Earth: From the director of Unbreakable
The Lone Ranger: From the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean

So the game here is to reverse it. Take a good or popular or critically acclaimed movie and give it a tagline from a credit that one of the filmmakers would like to forget. Or is just jarring from the image of the current movie.

The only rules are it has to be someone prominent in the movie - no picking out minor co-stars or crew members. And it has to be a movie that had already been made - no making fun of The Sixth Sense by pointing out the same guy also directed The Last Airbender.

To start:

Iron Man 3: From the producer of Elektra
Life of Pi: From the director of Hulk
Lincoln: From the producers of *batteries not included and Innerspace
World War Z: From the star of The Mexican
Zero Dark Thirty: From the writer and director of Blue Steel

The Empire Strikes Back: From the creators of The Star Wars Holiday Special.

Amélie: From the director of Alien: Resurrection
Finding Dory: From the writer and director of John Carter

The Lion King: From the studio that brought you The Black Cauldron and Oliver & Company

The Da Vinci Code: Based on the novel, The Da Vinci Code.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, from the producer of *Monkeybone *and Jingle All The Way.

I can’t find it now, but a Facebook friend posted a photo of a local theater sign that said…
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
From the writer of four episodes of Roseanne

(Said friend is a poster here as well, if she sees this, maybe she’ll post it here for us. It was pretty funny).

Argo, from the star of Gigli!

Avatar, from the director who gave us Pirhana 2: The Spawning!

Maybe it wasn’t a local theater, just found this picture online.

True Grit, from the team that brought you the remake of The Ladykillers

Maybe I should have made that Titanic, the newest great oceanic epic from the maker of Pirhana 2!
The Hurt Locker, from the director of Blue Steel and Near Dark.

Gosford Park, from the genius who gave us O.C. and Stiggs.

The Godfather: From the writer and director of The Bellboy and the Playgirls

I wonder how that guy would’ve pitched Bayer, IG Farben, or Volkswagen.

“Saving Private Ryan” from the director of “1941”

(Chosen because they’re both WWII movies)

Howard the Duck from the people who brought you Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and vice versa.

Phantom of the Opera: From the composer that brought you “Jeeves”

Platoon, from the writer and director of The Hand.

Glengarry Glen Ross, from the cinematic giant who gave us Madonna’s Whos’ That Girl?

Doubt: based on the prize-winning play by the writer of Congo!

Dances with Wolves: From the star of Waterworld
