Frosty Returns= Family Guy & Peanuts?

Watched the quite awful Frosty Returns with my Grandson this past weekend.

Fist thing that struck me was that the children were very similar in mannerisms and voices to those in the Peanuts movies and TV shows. That was explained when I learned that the director Bill Melendez had also worked on the Peanuts cartoons.

But what also struck me was that Frosty himself came across quite like Family Guy Peter Griffin. This show is from the early 90’s, long before any of us ever head of Seth MacFarlane. Just gotta wonder if there is something to it, like an inspiration for Peter or something.

No on the last part.

McFarlane has stated in the past that Peter was based on an old security guard at, I believe RISD, or at least a place where he used to work (may also be from his cartoon network days).

Alright. But what do you think about my observation that Frostys mannerisms are very much like Peters. Keep in mind I was looking for something interesting while watching this rot.

They definitely look like the Peanuts character. But, while Frosty acts weird, and maybe somewhat similar to some of MacFarlane’s humor, he didn’t seem like Peter to me. At least, for the first time he appeared–I didn’t watch the whole thing.

He doesn’t sound like John Goodman to me, but I can more easily see his humor in it.

I’ve never actually seen the movie you’re talking about. I’ve never seen any of the Frosty movies. Frankly, other than, like, Elf, I’ve never seen any CHRISTMAS movies ever in my life.

I just know Family Guy trivia.

I linked to a free copy of it.
